We’ve all seen the clip of Michael Jordan shooting a foul shot with his eyes closed.  It’s impressive, I guess, but he’s the best basketball player to have ever lived.  Greg Monroe, while a nice player, is far from Michael Jordan.  But tonight, he tried to be half of Michael Jordan by shooting a free throw with one eye closed. The 0-7 Pistons traveled to Philadelphia to play the Sixers who have somehow won four games this season.  Anyway, Monroe must have been trying to let Philly back into the game (the Pistons were leading by 17 in the second quarter)…or he was just poked in the eye on his way to the bucket. Instead of coming out of the game for a sub, Monroe shot the free throws with one eye open.  He split the pair. The Pistons finally got the goose egg out of the win column. They won 94-76. Monroe finished with 19 points, 18 boards, six assists and two eyeballs.
