PLAYA VISTA, Calif. Blake Griffin hasnt given up hope of playing for the Clippers in their potential. playoff elimination game Friday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, but the final decision might be out of his hands. Griffin, whos being treated for a high right ankle sprain he suffered Monday in practice, said on Thursday he felt better and didnt rule out playing in Game 6 at FedEx Forum in Memphis. The Clippers are down 3-2 in the best-of-7 series. Even if he risks making the injury worse, Griffin said hes hopeful hell improve enough to help his team force a Game 7 at Staples Center on Sunday. If Im able to go and Im able to help us, then its really my job to play, he said before the Clippers charter flight departed for Memphis on Thursday afternoon. I owe it to my teammates. If I make the injury worse and theres no more season left, then it doesnt really matter because I have a lot of time to rest and heal. As long as I can help my teammates and help us, Im going to play. Thats the only way Im looking at it. Im not worried about the future right now. Griffin played just 19 minutes in Game 5 and scored four points before he was pulled. Coach Vinny Del Negro said Griffin remains a game-time decision, but if hes not able to play, Lamar Odom will start at the power forward spot. Any decision about Griffins availability will be made with the Clippers training and medical staff, Del Negro said. Ill talk to the trainers and the doctors tomorrow, and Blake, and see where its at, Del Negro said. Well have to make that decision tomorrow.
