The Los Angeles Lakers announced that Darvin Ham is joining Mike Brown's staff as an assistant coach.
The 38-year-old Ham spent last season coaching the New Mexico Thunderbirds of the D-League. He previously was an assistant coach with New Mexico for two seasons.
Ham played for seven teams during an eight-year NBA career. He won an NBA championship with Detroit in 2004 as the Pistons beat the Lakers in the finals.
Ham joins John Kuester, Chuck Person and Quin Snyder on Brown's bench.
