TEAMS: Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks
MIAMI -- The Brooklyn Nets have the second-biggest payroll in the NBA, but the team that was on the money Wednesday night was the Miami Heat. Miami defeated the Nets 103-73 to raise its record to 4-1, including 4-0 at home. The Nets are 1-2. The Heat have beaten the Nets 11 consecutive times. The top payroll in the league belongs to the Lakers, followed by Brooklyn with its All-Star backcourt of Deron Williams and Joe Johnson and its highly compensated center, Brook Lopez. The Heat is fourth in salaries. However, instead of a high-powered shootout between two star-powered teams, the Heat dominated Wednesday's game by playing tough defense and getting out on the fast break. Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 22 points. LeBron James posted 20 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in just 30 minutes. The Heat lead the league in scoring and have totaled at least 100 points in four of their five games. Limiting the Nets to 73 points was the Heat's best defensive effort of ...

Dwyane Wade Is Jealous Jay-Z Likes Lebron More
Recently, Dwyane Wade talked about his meeting in 2010 with the Nets, who were currently in New Jersey. Don't ask me why Dwyane is the king of bringing up old topics that are irrelevant considering the big plan they had for the Miami Heat but Dwyane is someone who loves to hear himself talk. If you can't tell, I am sick of hearing Dwyane Wade bicker about something...
State of the Team: Heat making extra pass
MIAMI The NHL still might be in a lockout. But theres one place theyre really talking hockey.
Its where there are palm trees.
Until a few days ago, Miami Heat forward Rashard Lewis never had heard of a hockey assist.
Not much hockey in Houston, he said of his hometown.
But then Miami coach Erik Spoelstra gave his team lectures on the hockey assist. Hes using it to describe...
Chris Bosh Covers City & Shore Magazine
Miami Heat superstar, Chris Bosh covers the latest edition of City & Shore Magazine, which features a terrific cover story as Chris shows he is more than just basketball, with an intriguing conversation with Johnathan King(City & Shore writer) on his love for literature, old school music flavor, and Oh yea, his impeccable taste of fashion which I tend emphasize, I call him...
Shane Battier Thinks He Is ‘Quicker in the Mind’ Than Most Players, Would Like His Chances Against Other Forwards in ‘Jeopardy’
Shane Battier is known as one of the NBA’s deepest thinkers, which is why it was fun to watch him share the court with Ron Artest during their one season together in Houston. With Battier and Artest locking down opposing players on either wing, the Rockets had the NBA’s version of the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other.
Now a key member of the defending champion...
3 reasons the Knicks are better than the Nets
Basketball purists long for those epic battles from the '80s between the Celtics and Lakers, Bulls and Knicks, and Bulls and Pistons. The intensity is not there yet between the Knicks and the Nets, but I have to admit it is fun to watch these organizations fight for Big Apple supremacy.
Here are 3 reasons the Knicks are better than the Nets.

5 things to watch: Nets vs. Heat
The Brooklyn Nets (1-1) will make a trip to Florida to face the Miami Heat (3-1) for an Eastern Conference showdown. However, it will be a tall task for the Nets to leave South Beach with a win as Miami is undefeated at home early in the season. Not to mention the Nets have lost six in a row in Miami.
Miami is coming off a 124-99 win over Phoenix while Brooklyn is coming off a...

Skip Bayless wrote 4247 words of hot garbage on LeBron James
Skip Bayless will soon appear on Awful Announcing's Mount Rushmore to commemorate his "visceral unctousness" as Erik Malinowski so expertly put it in this guest column. Bloopers from LeBron James and Dwight Howard
Two of the best players in the NBA had embarrassing bloopers last night.
Although the Miami Heat crushed the Brooklyn Nets and LeBron James had a monster game; I am sure his teammates got on him for his missed dunk attempt.
The Lakers are 1-4 but more embarrassing last night was Dwight Howard’s free throw. He air balled it. How do you shoot an air ball when you are a pro and have...
Heat-Hawks Preview
While the Miami Heat are known for their offensive prowess, they're proving mighty stingy on the defensive end, too.
