MIAMI -- The Miami Heat have exercised their option on guard Norris Cole for the 2014-15 season, the team announced Tuesday.
Cole, 24, has played the past two seasons with the Heat. He averaged 5.6 points and 2.1 assists in 80 games last season, when he primarily backed up starting point guard Mario Chalmers.
In 145 career games, Cole has averaged 6.1 points, 2.0 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 19.7 minutes. He has a 40.7 career shooting percentage.
Cole was drafted by Minnesota in the first round (28th overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft. Miami acquired his rights in a draft-night trade.
