Looking to add depth to a team frequently struggling with rebounding, the Heat have signed forward Jarvis Varnado to a 10-day contract, the team announced Wednesday.
Varnado, a Mississippi State product who is the all-time NCAA leader in blocks, appeared in five games for the Celtics this season.
The forward was a second-round selection by the Heat in the 2010 draft and had played two games on Miami's summer league team this past offseason before being released on Oct. 26.
