MIAMI - LeBron James did it. So why shouldnt Chris Paul be able to choose his team? Then again, at least James waited until he became a free agent. I want Chris to go wherever he wants, James said Friday on the first day of Miami Heat training camp about the chaos surrounding the New Orleans point guard. And I just want him and his family to be happy. James and Paul are good buddies, having known each other since they were in their early teens and having been teammates on the 2008 Olympic gold-medal winning outfit. James was discouraged to see a trade that was in place for James to go from the Hornets to the Lakers having been blocked Thursday by the NBA office. Being a really good friend of mine, like a brother to me, Im frustrated for him and I wish him the best, said James, who bolted in the summer of 2010 from Cleveland to Miami when he became a free agent. I know where his heart is and what he wants to do with his career and I support him. Ive known Chris since I was 15 years old, 14 years old. Hopefully, things get resolved. Hes one of the best people that we have in this league. A Paul acquisition could maintain the Lakers as one of the best teams in the league for years to come. There would be endless debates on star-power between a Paul-Kobe Bryant-Andrew Bynum trio and the James-Dwyane Wade-Chris Bosh gathering in Miami. So might the Heat not want another superteam to be formed? I love it, Bosh said of wanting such a prospect. Bring it on. I hope they build three more. Teams are going to try to improve all the time, and if were going to get to the mountain top were going to have to beat some good teams. Heat Big Three members have been keeping an eye on the developments surrounding a three-team trade between the Lakers, New Orleans and Houston that has been blocked at least for now, one issue being the NBA is running the downtrodden Hornets. Its all been enough to make Wades head spin. Chris is a good friend of ours, like a brother, said Wade, who, along with Bosh, also was an Olympic teammate of Pauls. So we all understand its a stressful situation for him. This back and forth cant be easy for him. Its crazy right now. For me to watch is crazy. So I know for him to be in it, its got to be bananas. We wish the best for him, and hopefully something will be resolved soon. And, wherever hes at, we cant wait to play against him. Stay tuned to see if wherever hes at is where Paul wants to be.
