Indiana Pacers restricted free agent Roy Hibbert was in Portland on Monday to take a physical and go through a battery of medical tests in anticipation of signing the maximum offer sheet with the Trail Blazers when the moratorium on signings ends Wednesday.

Hibbert has received a four-year, $58 million offer sheet from the Trail Blazers, at which time the Pacers will have three days to match the offer.

Hibbert, 25, opted to sign Portland's offer after the Pacers initially did not offer a maximum deal to keep him. The Pacers are now expected to attempt to match the offer.

A third unnamed team also offered the 7-foot-2 All-Star center a maximum deal according to Sports Illustrated.

The NBA free agency negotiating period began Sunday. Contracts cannot be signed until Wednesday.

The Blazers were 28-38 last season. It is expected Hibbert would become a power forward next to Blazers All-Star center LaMarcus Aldridge. The Blazers also drafted 7-footer Meyers Leonard in the first round of last month's draft.

Hibbert averaged 12.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and two blocks a game last season
