The New Orleans Hornets on Thursday extended a qualifying offer to guard Marco Belinelli.
The offer is worth $3.37 million and makes Belinelli a restricted free agent. The Hornets would have seven days to match any offer he receives from another team.
Belinelli was acquired in an offseason trade with Toronto. He beat out Marcus Thornton for the starting shooting guard spot and averaged 10.4 points and shot nearly 42 percent from 3-point range, both career highs.
