As expected the Heat have to be favorites for the NBA title next year, but the Pierce and KG to Brooklyn trade does make things interesting. A starting five of Brook Lopez, KG, Pierce, Joe Johnson and Deron Williams is one of the best starting five in the league and could give the Heat a run for their money. They presumably would pose serious match-up problems with this big lineup while the Heat have flourished with a small ball lineup. But what about the Nets bench, can they fill out a full roster with limited cap space?
The Nets currently have Tornike Shengelia, Tyshawn Taylor, Mirza Teletovic and Reggie Evans under contract for the 2013-2014 season. Evans played in 80 games last year, averaging 4.5 PPG and 11.1 RPG. The rest however didn’t average more than 10 minutes per game … AKA not good. The Nets also acquired Jason Terry in the trade, who had a very up and down season to put it “lightly,” and Mason Plumlee from this year’s NBA draft. The trade won’t officially go through t...

TMZ caught up with Paul Pierce coming out of the grocery store (where else would you expect TMZ to get a scoop?) and got one short but interesting quote from the Celtics legend.
35-year-old Pierce was leaving a grocery store in L.A. with a bunch of water (it's important to hydrate) when we asked how he felt about being traded from the Celtics to the Brooklyn Nets this...
How the hell did TMZ know Paul Pierce was at this supermarket in LA? They must have been stalking other celebrities and stumbled into Pierce.
Anyway… The Truth claims he’ll play another 10 years and win a championship next year.
After spending 15 seasons with the Boston Celtics, it’s probably a reasonable question to ask Paul Pierce what a trade to the Brooklyn Nets means so late in his prolific career. But the way Pierce sees it, he may not be nearing the end, at all.
TMZ’s ever-roaming cameras caught up with Pierce in the parking lot of a Los Angeles supermarket, and the man behind said camera asked...
For those of you wondering what Brooklyn Nets forward Paul Pierce has been up to, he was playing in a pot-limit Omaha event at the World Series of Poker.
ESPN’s Andrew Feldman posted a photo of Pierce receiving a massage while playing in the 10K tournament:

Paul Pierce may not be a Boston Celtic anymore, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to fade off to sunset, either. Thanks to the lovely photo hogs at TMZ, they caught a pretty comical reaction when they inquired how it felt being traded at his advanced age: Paul’s reaction was CLASSIC — “Who says it’s [...]The post Paul Pierce: I plan on playing 10 more years appeared first...
Paul Pierce participated in the 2013 World Series of Poker $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event in Las Vegas on Saturday night. According to CardPlayer.com, Piece had a stack of nearly 250,000 at one point, which put him as one of the top 10 stacks with 143 left. He ultimately finished around 70th of the 386 participants, says PokerListings.com - only the top 45 finish with prize money.

Yesterday, while attending Boston's summer league victory, Jeff Green and Courtney Lee sat down to speak about Paul Pierce's and Kevin Garnett's legacies. Here's what they had to say.
Lee on wishing Pierce had retired a Celtic:
“As a player and as a fan watching him growing up, you kind of wish that he did. But it’s a business. The only thing I can say is it’s...

Celtics fans were disappointed to see Kevin Garnett and Doc Rivers go this offseason, but they were distraught to see Paul Pierce head out of Boston, too. After 15 years and 1,102 games played, all with the Celtics, a lot people assumed — hoped, maybe — that Pierce would spend his entire NBA career in green.
Count Larry Bird among those who will be disappointed to see Pierce...
Over the weekend, the two newest members of the Brooklyn Nets were spotted out and abut. In Malibu, Kevin Garnett, his wife Brandi and their two daughters, attended Levi McConaughey’s 5th Birthday. That would be the son of actor Matthew McConaughey. KG has lived in Malibu for about 10 years and Matthew is a neighbor. Also on hand was actress Sandra Bullock
Boston Celtics great Larry Bird, unlike most, isn’t ready to place Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in retirement homes just yet.
According to a story via ESPN, the Indiana Pacers president, feels both players are far from just complimentary pieces even though they’re in the latter stages of their careers.
“I think they’ve both been pretty healthy throughout their careers...

The Boston Celtics have moved on from an unforgettable era, and a Celtic great thinks the latest players shipped out of Boston still have fuel left in their tanks.
Larry Bird, Indiana Pacers president, believes Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett still have game in their veteran shoes.
“I think they got plenty left,” Bird told ESPN Monday during the Orlando Summer League...
ESPNs famous “Body Issue” landed today, and it featured quite a few basketball stars. The poses are always a little suspect (remember that part in Austin Powers where they’re constantly holding stuff in front of their junk? That was a bit more natural), but I’ll say it, the bods are chiseled. Take John Wall for instance – guy’s injured a lot, but he clearly spends his...
In less than 48 hours, the Celtics and Nets will finalize their mega-deal, and Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will officially be gone. It's going to be tough to see them go, but at the very least most Celtics fans understand the deal. Boston needs to rebuild, and picking up three first round picks in exchange for two guys on the wrong side of 35 is a good deal for the long term...
