After returning home from the Lakers' lengthy trip, Dwight Howard didn't want to talk about his father's comments to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution "I really didn't know what was said," Howard said. "At this point, I don't care to know." Dwight Howard Sr. took exception to comments made by Kobe Bryant, suggesting the Lakers center should play through a shoulder injury. "My dad is entitled to his own opinion," Howard said. On Monday, Bryant reiterated that his comments were taken out of context. "I've never said that," Bryant said. "The urgency is something that we've been trumping. We've been beating that drum since the beginning of the season when we started struggling and all that other stuff. It's nothing." Howard Sr. also faulted Coach Mike D'Antoni for not stepping in to quiet Bryant. D'Antoni didn't really address the comments other than to say he understood the sentiment behind them. "That's cool. He's his father. He should come to his defense," said D'Antoni. "There's nothing wrong with that." D'Antoni and Bryant had a similar thought on how much a coach can do when it comes to players. "You can't control what anyone says, really," Bryant said. -Eric Pincus

Dwight Howard’s Inherent Flaws Prove Troublesome

Dwight Howard has some type of inherent flaw. I won’t pretend to be an avid NBA fan. When the big games are on, I watch and enjoy. I soak in a player’s greatness and watch him flourish. During the playoffs, I make a conscious effort to catch the contests at hand. I don’t dislike the [...]The post Dwight Howard’s Inherent Flaws Prove Troublesome appeared first on The Sports Fan Journal.

Steve Nash seems frustrated with Dwight Howard and his lack of production

Steve Nash played through a number of frustrating seasons with the Phoenix Suns, but he rarely ever said much about it. Nash has always been one of the more quiet players in the league, so when he says something that can be construed as a complaint about a teammate it’s fairly notable. Nash and Dwight Howard, the Los Angeles Lakers’ two biggest offseason acquisitions, have not...

Trade Rumors Heating Up For Mavericks, Hawks

The Dallas Mavericks and the Atlanta Hawks are both going in interesting directions at the moment. Former Lakers head coach Brown, knew D’Antoni was in trouble

Former L.A. Lakers head coach Mike Brown is one of the nicest guys in the NBA, however, that doesn’t always translate to much. Cowherd asked what his feelings were when released or fired and Brown responded with “I was shocked.” Only a few games into the season one...
