Via the Sixers: Tonight, the reserves for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game were announced and Sixer forward Andre Iguodala was selected for the first time in his career.  He becomes the first Sixer not named Allen Iverson to make an All-Star Game since Dikembe Mutombo in 2002.  The reserves were voted on by head coaches in each conference, who each picked seven players (two forwards, two guards, a center and two ‘wildcard’ players from any position) not from their own team.   "On behalf of the entire Philadelphia 76ers organization, I want to congratulate Andre Iguodala on being named a member of the NBA Eastern Conference All-Star team," said Managing Owner Josh Harris. "My first season here has already provided a number of highlights on and off the court, but Andre receiving this honor for the first time is among the best.  We are excited and proud that Andre will be representing our team, our fans and the city of Philadelphia during All-Star weekend."

Andre Iguodala for Paul Pierce?

I spent the majority of my afternoon on the road, and since I am in the greater Philadelphia area, naturally I was listening to 97.5 The Fanatic. I can't speak for all of the programs that came before Mike Missanelli's show since he was the show on when I got on the road, but a lot of the talk today focused around the potential of an Andre Iguodala trade for Paul Pierce...

76ers' Hawes unlikely to play vs. Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs will face the Philadelphis 76ers tonight in game two of their Rodeo Road Trip but more than likely will not have to worry about center Spencer Hawes. Although Hawes played in the 76ers' last two games his strained left Achilles’ tendon flared up again. Unfortunately the Achilles’ pain has reared its ugly head again. Hawes underwent an MRI on his lower...

Parker, Spurs Too Much for 76ers

So, Wednesday night the Philadelphia 76ers found out there is a team hotter than they are. The streaking San Antonio Spurs came into Philadelphia and rode the hot hand of Tony Parker to a sixth straight win, beating the 76ers 100-90. Many felt that the older and slower Spurs would struggle to pick up the slack with do-everything guard Manu Ginobili already missing 22 games, but Tony...

76ers-Cavaliers Preview

The Philadelphia 76ers stumbled to end a rough stretch of their schedule. The first two stops on their upcoming trip could help them get back on their feet. Philadelphia looks to avoid a third straight defeat Saturday night when it faces a Cleveland Cavaliers team that will be without rookie point guard Kyrie Irving for a third consecutive game. The Atlantic Division-leading 76ers...

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda…

by Quinn Peterson / @QwinFNP If you were to talk to someone a half-dozen years ago or so, you’d be hard-pressed in convincing them that between Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Allen Iverson, Gilbert Arenas and Baron Davis not a single game would be played in the ’11-12 NBA season. But oh, how quickly they fall—about as quickly as they crossed and darted by defenders. They should...
