PLAYERS: LeBron JamesBill Russell
TEAMS: Miami Heat
Said the man who joins Bill Russell and Michael Jordan as the third in history to win consecutive regular season and NBA Finals MVP awards, and it’s impossible to argue with him. If only we could all escape the soul sucking vacuum of the Dan Gilberts of the world as effectively as LeBron has. At least the spark of hope on this front delivered by the kid from Akron is as much as anyone could ask for from a basketball game in 2013. Which admittedly might not be saying much, and certainly isn’t to say that Heat owner Micky Arison is a saint. But in choosing the lesser of two evils, give us the one who at least has the shame to come off in public like he only emerges from a castle full of Oxycontin and prostitutes when his NBA team is celebrating championships. Pleasure boat captains over sloganeering loan sharks and ballot buying casino monopolists, a step in the right direction that’s only validated by the latest Heat title, the result of one of the most compelling championship compe...

LeBron James gives speech to haters after winning championship (Video)

LeBron James was amazing in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. He shot superbly from the field. He made all of his free throws. He grabbed rebounds. He didn’t turn the ball over. He consistently burned the Spurs when they dared him to shoot. He came through in the clutch. For his performance in the [...]

LeBron James with plenty of time to match NBA legends

MIAMI LeBron James is 28 years old. When Michael Jordan was that age, he had one championship ring. James now has two. This isnt to suggest James definitely will reach Jordans six. But he has plenty of time to get there. After winning a second straight title Thursday, James legacy is still being built. The way he has improved in each of the past two seasons, he might not even...

LeBron James And A Brief History Of People Who Became Greater With #NoHeadband

At some point during the chaos of the Miami Heat’s incredibly perseverant, come-from-behind 103-100 OT Game 6 victory over the San Antonio Spurs last night, something magical happened – LeBron James lost his trademark headband. Of course, people lost their sh*t over this, because the Internet is full of people who believe in superstition and mystical powers provided by fuzzy...

Miami Heat Win The NBA Championship

With their 95-88 victory in Game 7, the Miami Heat are the 2012-2013 NBA Champions. The game was tight from start to finish, but Miami had just a little more left in their gas tank from Game 6, and that proved to be the difference at the end of the game. LeBron James found his shooting stroke, hitting 5 3-pointers and multiple midrange jump shots, including the game clincher from...

NBA’s Amazing “Phantom Camera” Recap of Spurs vs Heat Game 6 (Video)

It is easy to overreact and kneejerk about the greatness of a game, but last night’s Game 6 of the NBA Finals should go down as one of the best games in the history of the league. As an individual basketball game it had everything you wanted. When you factor in the names, the stakes and the legacies on the line it is the stuff Hollywood Films are made of. Regardless of how Game...

In Nike’s latest ad, LeBron James receives congratulations on his second straight NBA championship from Spike Lee, Warren Buffet, Drake, Dr. Dre, Bill Russell, Coach K and more on his answering machine, which I’m guessing doesn’t look like that in real life.
