Mascotophobia: Similar to Furryophobia, it’s a crippling condition, 1,000s suffer with it daily. But perhaps video of mascotophobic Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard experiencing the traumatic experience of being confronted by Bango, the beloved mascot (for some) of the Milwaukee Bucks will put a famous face to the condition and help raise awareness to this troublesome phobia. Prior to the Lakers-Bucks tilt at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in the town that is pronounced “Mill-e-wah-que” which is Algonquin means “the good land” and is also the home of both Laverne & Shirley and their Bucks counterparts, Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings, Dwight Howard was minding his own business when Bango accosted him, scaring the bejeezus out of Howard. Bango unchained, indeed. Suffice to say, Howard was shocked, shaken but no reports on whether or not he was stirred. Via Pro Basketball Talk: Frightening stuff. At least for Howard. One could surmise that the interaction with Bango the Mascot had a limited adverse effect upon Howard, as the Lakers lost 113-103, with Howard contributing 15 points and 15 rebounds. But who knows what kind of stats Howard could have put up had he not been dealing with the trauma of being forced to face his Mascotophobia head-on. Brave guy.
