Details are still raw but CBSSports.com's Ken Berger tweeted that Steve Nash could return in about 7-10 days. Berger is basing his information given to him by the Lakers' training staff Monday afternoon. Latest info from Lakers' medical staff has Steve Nash missing about 7-10 days, according to a person briefed on the point guard's prognosis. — Ken Berger (@KBergCBS) November 5, 2012 However, that may not exactly translate to Nash actually suiting up and playing since Mike Brown has expressed concerns in rushing to get his starting point guard back in action. But if Nash gets clearance from the medical staff to play, I don't see why Brown won't plug him back once that happens when you consider that the Lakers need to have everyone on the floor to develop their chemistry. Nash was initially diagnosed with a leg contusion by Laker trainer Gary Vitti after colliding with Portland's rookie point guard Damon Lillard last Wednesday. But his injury was upgraded to a non-displaced bone fracture on his fibula just hours before Sunday's tip-off against the Detroit Pistons. On the flip side, Nash's absence right now should benefit Steve Blake and Darius Morris.Blake had his best game of the new season against the Pistons last Sunday posting 6 points, 6 assists and career-matching 5 steals in place of Nash on the starting lineup. Not sure if that kind of effort for him will continue even after Nash's return, but it's an indication that Blake, at the very least, doesn't want to be the guy everyone can point a finger at should the Lakers continue their freefall in the loss column.Same goes with Morris. He was under control and made some nice decisions on offense against the Pistons. Defensively, he was also on par keeping his body between his man and the basket while helping out on closing down some open lanes to the rim. That's about all you can ask for out of Darius at this stage of his career and in this type of rotation situation for him. The key for him though is not to take a step backwards and fall out of Brown's radar. But the most important thing here for the Lakers as a team is to get Nash back as soon as possible. Hopefully, that will come in 7 or 10 days.
