Kyrie Irving Selected As Eastern Conference All-Star Reserve

His name was the last one that flashed on the TNT screen, but Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is heading to Houston for his first All-Star game. Irving becomes just the 7th NBA All-Star selection under the age of 21, a list that includes Isiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, and Shaquille O’Neal. Other selections from the East were Phiadelphia’s...

Cavs' Kyrie Irving named All-Star

As he mingled with Cleveland's top sports figures, Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving learned he's an NBA All-Star for the first time. The dynamic point guard was voted as an Eastern Conference reserve for next month's game in Houston. The 20-year-old is the first Cleveland player picked for the event since LeBron James was voted in as a starter in 2010. Irving is averaging...

The Cavaliers Kyrie Irving Deserves To Be In The NBA All Star Game Period.

Kyrie Irving is one of the brightest young stars in the NBA. To exclude him from the NBA all star game puts on a further demonstration  of the farce the NBA is becoming. The David Stern ran league is turning into a joke. When Stern fined teams for not playing some of its starters, people could tell the league was going down hill. Not to include one of the best players in the NBA...

Irving shows All-Star worthiness in Cavs' win over Celtics

CLEVELAND -- If anyone had any doubts about Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving making the Eastern Conference All-Star team, they should watch video of Tuesday night's game. He was magnificent with a game-high 40 points in the Cavs' 95-90 victory over the Boston Celtics before an announced crowd of 14,192 at Quicken Loans Arena. "I thought it was a pretty loud statement...

Irving and Durant have monster games

Cleveland Cavaliers star point guard Kyrie Irving has missed a lot of games this season due to injury but his play is All Star caliber. In a recent game against the Boston Celtics Irving had a monster game with 40 points. Irving shot a crazy 16 of 24 from the field and he was also 7 of 7 from the free throw line. Irving also made 1 three pointer in his 40 point game. He also showed...

Box Score: Celtics 90, Cavaliers 95

Boston came into this game hurting. Losers of 3 straight, the Celtics surely looked at this game in Cleveland as a prime opportunity to get things back on track. Kyrie Irving had other ideas. “Mr 4th Quarter” disguised himself as “Mr 1st Quarter” in this one as he came out looking to make a statement against the East’s All-Star starting PG Rajon Rondo. Irving was aggressive...

Cavaliers 95, Celtics 90

CLEVELAND -- Point guard Kyrie Irving fired in a game-high 40 points in the Cavaliers' 95-90 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday at Quicken Loans Arena. The loss was the Celtics' fourth in a row. Irving, gunning for a spot on the Eastern Conference All-Star team, was 16 of 24 from the field, 1 of 3 from behind the arc and 7 of 7 from the foul line. It was the second...

Bucks-Cavaliers Preview

The Milwaukee Bucks just gave their general manager a three-year extension, they're 6-2 under an interim coach and they're about to face a team they have mostly beaten of late. If Kyrie Irving plays near the level he did his last time out, though, the Cleveland Cavaliers can hardly be overlooked. The Bucks look to match their longest winning streak of the season at four...

Boston Celtics Remain Consistent With Inconsistency in Four-Game Span

Photo by AP It seems as though the Boston Celtics are right where they started–square one. This season has been full of incomplete performances by Doc Rivers’ group, but especially when it comes to  Tuesday’s loss against Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers (11-32). Granted Irving did post a 40-point performance, but there should be no excuse for the players to display...

Bucks' Jennings snubbed from All-Star game

Jennings had the best chance of breaking the streak, but the fourth-year point guard won't be making his first All-Star appearance. The 23-year-old is averaging 18.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, a career-best 5.8 assists and career-best 2.0 steals per game. Instead, Eastern Conference coaches chose Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday and Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving as the reserve...

The Diff: Franchise comparisons for the Cavaliers

Thanks to all for your really positive feedback about my first-ever edition of The Diff last week about Kyrie Irving’s potential. I’m back today with more talk about the Cavs. Hope you enjoy yet again. For weeks and weeks, one of my favorite NBA topics has been exploring and researching possible franchise comparisons for the Cavaliers and where they stand right now. I believe...

The Starting Lineup: Durant, Irving Brutalize Clippers, Celtics

Unfortunately, Chris Paul’s absence leaves us with not much to take away from Tuesday night’s feature matchup between the West-leading Thunder and second-place Clippers.  Thankfully, however, Kevin Durant was so kind as to make the event very much worth watching.  Hopefully you didn’t give up on him at halftime, when he only had eight points, because he finished with an impressive...

NBA247365.COM’s All-Star Reserves (Eastern Conference)

Well, folks, the halfway point of the season is upon us, and the 2013 All-Star reserves will be announced live on TNT at 7 PM.  This year, the NBA stuck to its usual procedure and left the big decisions up to the coaches, but if they’d elected to put me in charge (and I expect that they will once they catch wind of my awesome picks) these would be the seven Eastern Conference...
