After the rising ticket prices, the seven-game win streak, the resurrection of the New York Knicks and all the Linsanity that came along with it, it was hard to foresee a possible point guard controversy in New York.  But here we are. Since the win streak, the Knicks have gone 3-4 with tough losses to the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics where they had a big stage to show they were for real. In both of those games, Jeremy Lin struggled to get anything going and was a turnover machine. I don't think anything could have saved the Knicks against the Heat, but against the Celtics, Lin might have cost them the game. Before the season started, the Knicks had decided they were going to go with Baron Davis at point guard once he got back from injury, and, until then, they were just going to try and stay above water with whomever they could throw out there. Then Lin busted onto the scene in a comeback win against the New Jersey Nets and everyone forgot about Davis. The Knicks' p...

Rondo puts on a clinic vs. Lin, Knicks

Linsanity has been the talk of the NBA over the past few weeks, and rightfully so. But the Knicks' struggles in recent games have left some questioning whether Jeremy Lin's stardom and New York's time in the spotlight already have reached their peaks. It's still too early to say whether the Knicks' catapult into relevancy is a legitimate transformation or just...

'Lin-til' soup for you

Even though "Lin-sanity" might be cooling off now, it sure has not stopped New York City restaurants from trying to cash in on New York Knicks' Jeremy Lin's rise atop NBA popularity. By now you must have heard all the plays on Lin's name. From "Lin-credible," "Lin-ing" to the ever popular "Lin-sanity" now comes a new one should...

Scouting the Knicks: 'Linsanity' comes to San Antonio

The San Antonio Spurs (25-12) return to action tonight after a “rare” two days off in this condensed NBA season. The Spurs will be looking to rebound from Sunday’s loss at home to the Denver Nuggets as the Spurs are finally fully healthy, but struggling (1-2) coming out of the All-Star break. The Spurs’ opponent tonight is a team that has caught major attention from fans...

Grand Theft Rondo beats Linsanity as Celtics win 4th in a row

The Celtics overcame a lackluster 1st half effort to beat the Knicks and remain undefeated since the All Star break. Rondo had his second triple double of the week with 18 points, 17 rebounds and 20 assists. Yes, you read that right. It's a Rondoful world and if you don't like it too bad.  Of course the Celtics would've lost the game without Paul Pierce's...

Knicks, Rangers to rise prices in 2012-13

It's the price of Linning. The resurgent New York Knicks and conference-leading New York Rangers both will boost their ticket prices for next season, making cheap seats not so cheap by this fall. Knicks fans will pay an average of 4.9 percent more for their 2012-13 season tickets, while Blueshirts supporters will have to pony up about 9.5 percent more when the puck drops in...

Rajon Rondo, Celtics Overcome 'Linsanity' to Defeat Knicks in Playoff-Like Atmosphere at TD Garden (Video)

The Celtics and Knicks have each had their ups and downs this season, but they remain two teams that could be dangerous come playoff time. On Sunday, they renewed their rivalry in front of a boisterous crowd at TD Garden. Much of the talk leading up to Sunday's clash centered around Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin, a Harvard product who has taken the NBA by storm this season and...

Day 73 of 124: Not So Super Tuesday

Not one had 38 or 40 points; no one had 20 rebounds; there were a few fairly remarkable performances, but with overtime games between the Lakers and Pistons as well as Boston and Houston, I kind of thought there would be some gaudier numbers to throw out… Granted, the top lines are mostly from those two games… once you seem them, it’s almost the opposite of “objects in the...

Knicks-Mavericks Preview

One of the signature performances during Jeremy Lin's rise came when he led the New York Knicks to a nationally-televised victory over the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks. Lin is now enduring some woes heading into a rematch with the Mavericks on Tuesday - a night on which Tyson Chandler will receive a championship ring in his return to Dallas. New York (18-19) had...

The Knicks lead the Celtics 56-51 at the half behind Carmelo Anthony’s lead, who has 12 points on 4-for-7 shooting. Anthony has demonstrated how Jeremy Lin can successfully run Mike D’Antoni’s point guard driven system while allowing Melo to shine. The Celtics have been able to stay in this game thanks to four turnovers for [...]

Baron Davis comes clean about what it was like playing for Clippers owner Donald Sterling

Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been called the NBA’s worst owner for years. His notoriously cheap ways of running the franchise coupled with the housing discrimination lawsuits filed against him are well documented. Even though the Clippers are having a winning season and thus far, you haven’t heard any complaints from All-Stars Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, [...]
