Charles Oakley is very bitter about how the Knicks organization has treated him ever since he left New York for Toronto. Charles was very successful in his long career in the NBA. He made it to 13 straight postseasons with the Bulls and Knicks. He also got to to where the Knicks are trying to get to in 1994. That is where every New Yorker wants them to be, but with the on court issues with our big 3, we haven't managed to get so far.
''I think the problem with the Knicks is that their best two guys don’t make the people around them better,” Oakley said.
“You see it with the Miamis, the Oklahoma Citys, the Bulls, their top guys make others better. If that’s the case, I’m going to make sure that my top two guys have the ball at all times.”
Our big 3 has improved this offseason. Stoudemire has been doing two a days for 2 weeks now with Hakeem Olajuwon & Carmelo Anthony & Tyson are coming off a gold medal from London.
Charles likes Stoudemires approach.
“(Stoudemire) is looking to fine-tune his game, because if you want to be successful in this league you have to change up your game,” Oakley said. “Amar’e is just doing whatever it takes to make himself better and for that I tip my hat to him.”
Amare Stoudemire is a team player. When he catches the ball and does not give it up, that doesn't mean he's not a team player. That means that he is a great isolation player. He is perceived as a person that he is not. He is tuning his game for the New York Knicks not for himself. Coach Woodson likes the inside-out approach and the only way for Stoudemire to be sucesseful in that system is to work on his post game.
BEST OF MAXIM

You cannot help but cringe when watching Baron Davis’ knee injury from last season’s playoffs (Disclaimer: not for the squeamish). The 33-year old tore his ACL and MCL while driving to the basket in a playoff game against the Miami Heat. The recovery time for this type of injury is supposed to be a full year, but Davis thinks he can make it back sooner than that.
