PLAYERS: Josh McRoberts
TEAMS: Orlando Magic
Someone boil up Josh McRoberts some milk steak. I noticed this while I was watching the Celtics and Magic last night. Charlie looks pretty short on Always Sunny so there would have to be some pretty impressive camera tricks to hide McRoberts' 6'10'' frame, but has anyone seen these two in the same place? The hair, the scruffy beard, the facial features... there may be something here. McRoberts played well in the fourth quarter and overtime too, boxing out, chasing down rebounds, going after loose balls and he ended up with 14 rebounds and two blocked shots. If that doesn't sound like the NBA equivalent of Charlie work I don't know what does. I'm not saying Josh McRoberts plays Charlie on "Sunny", but maybe he did model his current look after the cat-loving wild card. Just don't be surprised when McRoberts shows up to a post game interview wearing a dark stallion tee shirt and saggy long johns. Especially if he got traded to the Six...

Paul Pierce dropped by Jameer Nelson's move

Ooohhhh....

Glen Davis: Doc Rivers is military-minded, Jacque Vaughn is more like Ghandi

Glen Davis is off to a hot start in his second full season with the Orlando Magic. The power forward is averaging nearly 15 points and 9 rebounds per game, and new Orlando head coach Jacque Vaughn has even named him a co-captain along with point guard Jameer Nelson. Davis never really seemed to fulfill his potential with the Boston Celtics, and he recently spoke about the difference...

Magic schedule gets serious

The Magic entered this week's five-game homestand knowing it was an opportunity to set their record straight. The next three weeks really will probably set the Magic toward whatever type of season they will have -- a battle for ping pong balls and some measure of respect at the bottom or a potential surprise Playoff fight. With Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, San Antonio and...

Celtics work their magic for a 116 to 110 win over Orlando

"I'm coming for you Magic Johnson" The Celtics defeated the Magic 116 to 110, in a game that the Celtics looked to be in control of early with a 12 point lead in the first half. The second half was however a different story when the Magic worked their magic from beyond the arc as Arron Afflalo, JJ Redick and Jameer Nelson all had threes leading to a 34 point third...

Jameer Nelson Snaps Old Man Paul Pierce’s Ankles Clean Off

Jameer Nelson pulled off one of the most simple non-crossovers I have seen in quite sometime, and it sent Paul Pierce tumbling to the ground. Check out how Pierce’s legs just buckled underneath him as Jameer created more than space. Paul was forced to pick up his jock-strap following the embarrassment. And yes, Jameer missed the shot. Jameer Nelson Teaches Paul Pierce How To Sit Down

Fantastic crossover by the one time all star point guard, Jameer Nelson.  Unfortunately, you need to sink the basket or at least take the ball to the hole if you are going to leave your defender looking like he just had his leg chopped off by a zombie.  Or a fat person falling and not getting up. In related news, the Orlando Magic almost beat the Celtics in this game.  That...

Here’s Jameer Nelson hitting Paul Pierce with a crossover that sends him to the ground

Paul Pierce had a good game in their 116-110 overtime victory over the Magic Sunday night. But while Pierce poured in 23 points on the offensive end, all we want to talk about is how he almost lost a leg on the defensive end to a crossover dribble from Magic guard Jameer Nelson. Gotta move those feet, Paul. The post Here’s Jameer Nelson hitting Paul Pierce with a crossover that...

Magic lose lead late, fall to Celtics in overtime

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Kevin Garnett had 24 points and 10 rebounds, Paul Pierce added 23 points and Rajon Rondo was one rebound shy of a triple double with 15 points and 16 assists as the Boston Celtics outlasted the Orlando Magic 116-110 in overtime Sunday night. The Celtics won their second straight and earned their sixth consecutive win over the Magic. They return home Wednesday...

Comments from the Other Side - Magic 11/26

Surprised to see so much Big Baby hate.  I've felt that the Celtics got the best of the deal but I though Baby was doing pretty well there.  Guess not.   A lot of ref complaints but I thought the refs missed stuff on both sides but didn't favor either.  Of course, what would a CFTOS be without a Paul Pierce wheelchair reference?  My favorite comments are in bold. ...

Spurs-Magic Preview

The young Orlando Magic acknowledge they still have much to learn. They also know they could get an important lesson from their next game. The Magic will attempt to bounce back from the first loss on their season-high homestand Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs, who will seek a season-high fifth straight win and eighth in a row on the road. With a new coach, three returning...

Recap: Celtics give Doc, fans gray hair, but get W in Orlando

The Celtics hold on in Orlando tonight to beat the Magic 116-110 in OT. Looked like the Celtics would continue their stellar play from Friday night early, but a nightmare 3rd quarter where Boston’s defense vanished and Orlando shot the lights out made this a nail biter. The Green: Rondo came out of the gate on a mission. He had 4 assists in the first 4 minutes of the game, 9 at...

Jameer Nelson leaves Paul Pierce flat on his back

The Celtics pulled off an overtime win in Orlando against the Magic – I don’t know how I feel about that but I guess it’s the NBA and there’s no such thing as an 82-0 season. Paul Pierce got rocked by Jameer Nelson that left him up and close and personal with the hardwood. [...]

Shootaround: Happy Homecomings

Boston Celtics (7-6) vs. Orlando Magic (5-7) 6 p.m. Glen Davis has been looking forward to this game for a while now. Not only are the Magic in the midst of a five-game home stand, one that could very well set their season in one direction or another. OK, maybe most people expect it to go south, but the Magic have to play the games and have a chance to get into the Playoff picture...
