Though the Knicks bowed out in the second round of the playoffs this season, there's still plenty to be excited about. After instilling a defensive mentality throughout his squad, Mike Woodson led the way and helped New York accomplish great things. An Atlantic Division title, a 54 win season, and a playoff series' victory were all things that happened under Woodson's watch. Needless to say, he's already accomplished plenty of feats not reached by fellow Knicks coaches of the recent past.Unfortunately, an Eastern Conference Finals meeting with the Miami Heat did not turn out to be one of them. After all the hype, the different acquisitions, and setting certain expectations, the Knicks fell short of what was expected of them. Despite a solid roster from A to Z (which includes the NBA scoring champion, the "Sixth Man of the Year," an All-Defensive First Team member---all surrounded by a slew of proven veterans), many players couldn't step up when it mattere...

Melo Wants Help: Creating a 2nd Option for Melo and the Knicks

The 2nd option, or should I say the lack of the 2nd option, plagued the Knicks all season. With their real 2nd option, Amar’e Stoudemire out due to injury, the Knicks turned to J.R. Smith as their 2nd and only other offensive weapon. The only problem is that J.R. has proved that he not that type of player. This is another issue that held the Knicks back during the season as well...

Turn On The Knicks Throwback Thursday – May 30th Edition – New York Knicks Draft Blunders

Last week, we kicked our New York Knicks Draft Blunders with the Round Mound of Disappointment known as Michael Sweetney, but trust me, the Knicks have matched that incompetency on much more than one occasion. In 2002, they finally made the right selection, but still managed to make a mess of it. With the seventh pick of the 2002 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks selected Nene Hilario...

New York Knicks – How To Balance Offense?

Recently, the Zen Master and 11-time NBA Champion coach, Phil Jackson has stated that he encourages Carmelo Anthony to read his book. He believes that Melo is a “terrific player” but criticizes that the Knicks need to play more team basketball. It was clear this season and especially in the playoffs that the Knicks lack some serious team-basketball capabilities. Close game situations...

Chris Paul and the Knicks: A Complete, Detailed Look-In at The Knicks’ Chances of Getting CP3

Chris Paul’s free agency grows closer every day as the star point guard will almost certainly opt out of his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers on July 1st and test free agency. Of course, when you are a player of Paul’s caliber, “testing free agency” means “fielding phone calls from 30 general managers, regardless of whether they have cap room or not”. Every Knicks...

Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony could miss start of regular season

At this point, the New York Knicks are hoping that the tear in small forward Carmelo Anthony’s shoulder is able to heal on its own, without requiring surgery. If Anthony does eventually need to go under the knife, the procedure could sideline him for the start of the regular season, according to Ian Begley of ESPN New York. The Knicks currently plan to have Anthony rest for the...

Woodson Has One Guaranteed Year Remaining On Contract With Knicks

Mike Woodson has one guaranteed year remaining on the three-year deal he signed prior to the 2012-13 season. Woodson's guaranteed portion of the contract coincides with Carmelo Anthony's opt-out clause next summer. Woodson has compiled an overall record of 72-34 with the Knicks — good for the franchise’s highest coaching winning percentage (.679).

Steph Curry Says He’s So Happy He Didn’t Fall to Knicks in the Draft

More than anything else the Knicks need a scorer who can create off the dribble and is a consistent jump shooter. Steph Curry would have fit in perfectly. Unfortunately for the Knicks, the Warriors snatched up Curry before they had a chance (The Warriors had the 8th pick in 2009 NBA Draft and the Knicks the 9th Pick). It is a decision that Curry is grateful for. “The great thing...
