MIAMI (AP) -- LeBron James sat out Saturday night against Washington for the Miami Heat, only the second game he has missed this season.
With the playoffs starting next week, Chris Bosh was held out for the third game in a row. Dwyane Wade, who has missed 14 games, was in the starting lineup.
"We want to make sure we are healthy going into the second season," coach Erik Spoelstra said.
James is treating some minor bumps and bruises but feeling fine, Spoelstra said. He had led the Heat in scoring each of the past 12 games.
Bosh has been dealing with minor ailments, and the Heat hope to have him back before the end of the regular season Thursday, Spoelstra said. Center Ronny Turiaf sat out with a sore hamstring.
The Heat went into Saturday's game chasing Chicago for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
