Beyond The Buzzer:
James Harden talked about how he has already begun recruiting future free agents to come and play with him on the Houston Rockets:
“I’ve been starting that recruiting process. Not one player is going to go win a championship. Nowadays you need two or even more. I’ve definitely started the recruiting process. We need more guys to come over here, so we can win. But, for right now we are going to stick with the pieces we have and try to run with that.”

The radio voice of the Houston Rockets, Craig Ackerman, added insult to injury with his call after the final buzzer of last nights game. The last few seconds were a frenzy and the Lakers came up short 107-105, but the real story here is Ackerman. Kicking the Lakers while they are down, he drops one of the best lines we’ve ever heard from an NBA radio guy.
Only days after Kobe...
This is as good as it gets, and mostly because it is true. On Tuesday night the Rockets came back to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 107-105 after the Lakeshow blew a 13 -point lead in the fourth quarter. As the game was ending, Houston Rockets radio announcer Craig Ackerman went directly in on the Lakers referencing Kobe Bryant’s words for Pau Gasol earlier this week.
Twenty-two percent of the season is now gone and the Lakers are an extremely disappointing 8-10, 3-5 under Mike D’Antoni. Although the Hack-a-Howard strategy appears to be effective, it’s not the ultimate reason for the Lakers’ struggles.
And the Houston Rockets announcer may have pretty much summed up the Lakers season 22% of the way in. This is most definitely the first time...
Tweet Sunday after the Lakers suffered a discouraging loss to the Orlando Magic Kobe Bryant called out Pau Gasol to the media, saying Pau needed to “put his big boy pants on and adjust.” Well that Bryant sound bite gave Houston Rockets announcer Craig Ackerman the material needed to make this comical call after the [...]
The Houston Rockets still can't get the job done on the road.
It's been a far different story at home.
