The Grizzlies played against Lob City on Friday night, but the Clippers weren’t the team throwing it down for once. Memphis’ James Johnson, who’s only averaging 8.3 PPG this year, didn’t have anyone to pass to when DeAndre Jordan picked him up at the free throw line, but that didn’t stop him from scoring. Johnson used his pivot foot to get around Jordan, threw the ball off the backboard to himself, and dunked over Matt Barnes, probably traveling in the process. But hey, it’s the NBA, if you take 3 steps and you won’t hear a whistle.

Look at this crazy move by James Johnson. Up-and-under, in traffic, and then throwing an off the backboard alley-oop to himself.
Players throwing off-the-backboard alley oops to themselves isn’t all that hard for NBA players. In dunk contests, off-the-backboard oops are a staple, and these plays even happen on fast breaks occasionally.
But the off-the-backboard oop Memphis Grizzlies forward James Johnson completed yesterday is something the league hasn’t seen in a long time.

Pistons big man Josh Harrellson Instagram’d a picture of his HUMONGOUS grizzly bear tattoo Thursday morning.
Why a grizzly bear? We have no idea. Was he hoping to get dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies at the NBA trade deadline Thursday? Possibly. Is he honoring the nearby Oakland University Golden Grizzlies? Doubtful. Does he enjoy staring big scary-looking bears when...
The Los Angeles Clippers have traded Antawn Jamison to the Atlanta Hawks.
Jamison was signed to a one-year deal by the Clippers in the offseason.
The Clippers are looking good on Sunday, and the big men got into the lob city act without Chris Paul.
Blake Griffin showed off his point guard skills with this nice halfcourt lob to DeAndre Jordan for a nice finish.
The Hawks will waive Cartier Martin ahead of the expiration of his 10-day deal to make room for the newly-acquired Antawn Jamison, tweets Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Atlanta acquired Jamison earlier today along with cash considerations from the Clippers. The 37-year-old veteran may not be staying in Atlanta for long, however, as the Hawks are thinking about...
