Although Jason Kidd isn’t coaching the Brooklyn Nets Summer League team today, I assumed that he would at least would be attentive to the action. Check out the below video courtesy of Blazer’s Edge as it shows Kidd leaving the Amway Center to take a phone call in the first quarter of a blowout against the Houston Rockets:

Mikeal Prokhorov's Nets were able to sign fellow Russian, Andrei Kirilenko, to a well below market deal, prompting some teams to ask for an investigation.

Jason Kidd Leaves Summer League Game to Take Call, Incurs Wrath of Internet (Video)

What a rookie coach move. Jason Kidd attracted all kinds of Internet hate Thursday when he broke the hallowed, unwritten rules of Summer League basketball (wait, there’s no such thing?). Kidd got a phone call in the middle of a game — a game he was merely watching and letting an assistant run, mind you — and, contrary to much of the modern world, politely took the call outside...

What a surprise! NBA owners don’t trust their Russian peer

Mikhail Prokhorov is worth billions, and he made it living in country that, well, we don’t trust. Sure, Communism has been dead in Russia for over 20 years, but hey, they’re the Ruskies. It appears as if that feeling is carrying over to Prokhorov if we are reading the tea leaves correctly. A few owners and GM’s spoke anonymously about the Brooklyn Nets signing of Andrei Kirilenko...

Andray Blatche Apparently Uses EZPass Lane, Does Not Have EZPass (Photo)

It’s always something with Andray Blatche. Fresh off an investigation into an alleged sexual assault in Philadelphia — an accusation Blatche was cleared of two months ago, according to the New York Post — Blatche was dismayed to find a pile of violation notices from EZPass in his mail. Blatche even posted a photo of the bills on Instagram, writing “Lol I get these n my mail...

Kidd Helped Convince Garnett To Waive No-Trade Clause

Jason Kidd helped convince Kevin Garnett to waive his no-trade clause with the Boston Celtics. “He’s a man of few words, but when he does say something, everyone listens,” Kidd said of Garnett. “My thing, my pitch was to have an opportunity to win a championship again and being able to not just win a championship, but teach these guys what it takes to win.” Kidd’s pitch...

Andrei Kirilenko set to sign with Brooklyn Nets

Andrei Kirilenko didn't land a lucrative, long-term deal, but he will join a franchise with zero fear of taking on an extreme financial burden. According to Kirilenko's agent, Marc Fleisher, the Minnesota Timberwolves small forward of exactly one season will sign with the spendthrift Brooklyn Nets. The 11-year pro opted out of the second year of his contract in Minneapolis...

Andrei Kirilenko to sign with Brooklyn Nets for mini mid-level exception

The Brooklyn Nets already beefed up their roster by making a big trade with the Boston Celtics, and they are not done making moves. According to NBA reporter Peter Vecsey, the Nets have agreed to sign Andrei Kirilenko for the mini mid-level exception, which is $3.1 million. The Nets are getting a darn good defensive [...]

Blatche Eager To Learn From Garnett

Andray Blatche and Kevin Garnett have a rocky history, filled with insults and general disrespect. Blatche and Garnett famously feuded in 2010, but patched things up last season. “I can say Kevin, he surprised me,” Blatche said. “We were playing one game against each other, I believe it was last year, in Brooklyn. I was playing against him and he said, ‘Hey man, just keep...
