Deron Williams will be one of the most prized NBA free agents next summer, and Jason Kidd is already recruiting him to the Dallas Mavericks on the low through the media. Per ESPN: “Of course, there’s plenty of buzz swirling around a possible return home next summer for Williams to play for Mark Cuban’s club. Kidd wants to go two more years to play a 20th season at 40 years old. Kidd said he took some lumps playing golf with Williams over the summer, but the sting has eased, said Kidd, who would welcome Williams to Dallas — and hand him the baton that is Kidd’s starting job. ‘It would be great to back him up,’ Kidd said Monday night, ‘wherever he’s at.’ Kidd politely smiled as he answered a question about a possible return to the Nets through free agency to join Williams in Brooklyn, but that would certainly seem to be a long shot. (Now, if Jersey winds up making an increasingly doubtful-looking trade to acquire Dwight Howard, then we’ll revisit the subject. Of course, if the Nets ...

Deron Williams has a wish list, which means very little

As superstar players have taken more control over the teams they join, the free-agent or trade wish list has become one of the NBA's newest trends. It's a rite of passage for any star — if he doesn't have a wish list, he's probably not so great. And if he creates one without having earned it, he's likely to embarrass himself. The popularity of the wish list...

Deron Williams has a wish list, too. Nets are on top for now.

The conventional wisdom has been that if the Nets could not land another star to join Deron Williams in New Jersey this season or Brooklyn next season, he would opt out this summer — crushing the Nets franchise that gave up a lot to get him — and heading to his hometown of Dallas next…

Will The Nets Lose D-Will If Dwight Howard Goes Elsewhere?

Last February the New Jersey Nets took a calculated gamble when they sent a parcel of young players to the Utah Jazz in exchange for All-Star point guard Deron Williams. The Nets knew that Williams could become a Free Agent at the end of this season; but they were confident that they could persuade him to sign with the club for a long-term pact. New Jersey’s plan was to acquire...

Nets over Warriors 107-100 getting their first home win of the year

The New Jersey Nets (4-11) beat the Golden State Warriors (5-9) 107-100, tonight at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Finally! The Nets get their first home win of the season and that's a complete joke if you think about it. In their 15th game of the season. They get their first win at home and I'm sure they can't wait to go to Brooklyn next season. Game...
