According to ESPN New York, newly acquired Knicks guard Jason Kidd will be fighting the DWI charge from this past July.  In that ordeal, police reported that Kidd’s Cadillac Escalade ran into a telephone pole after a night of partying.

Jason Kidd was at the Southampton Town Court for his hearing.  His attorney, Edward Burke, Jr., told reporters that they will be “defending” the DWI charge against the NBA star.  Kidd’s attorney added,

He is taking this very, very seriously.  He wants to get this past him as quickly as possible.  The legal process takes some time but he is ready for his season.

If Jason Kidd cannot escape the “celebrity status” in court and is indeed handed a DWI charge, the misdemeanor charge could have him behind bars for a year.  His next appearance in court will be November 7th, which is two days before he plays against his former team at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks organization has a small sample of head coach Mike Woodson’s coaching style to analyze. So far, his coaching skills have been well received by the team. America's obsession with guarantees ropes in J.R. Smith

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how every player should expect a championship.  I even went so far as to say I don't care if you're Bismack Biyombo. If you're asked about the "tough season coming up," you respond with "I go into every game expecting to win and trying to do everything I can to make that happen. If it turns out to be a tough season...
