When JaVale McGee was on the Washington Wizards, he provided us with almost weekly entertainment in the form of some sort of outrageously awful play, a boneheaded decision or some off-the-court drama. When he joined the Denver Nuggets, he cleaned up his act a bit and proved that he could actually contribute to an NBA team.
He is more successful in Denver, but you can tell there is still something a bit off about him.
And what do we do with athletes that have a quirky side? That’s right, we give them their own reality show.
JaVale and his mom, former WNBA player Pamela McGee, will be featured on a new show on Oprah Winfrey’s network called “Millionaire Mama’s Boy.”
If I can find the OWN network, I may have to check this one out. Judging by the title, I’m guessing we will see a lot of conversations like this:
Pam: “JaVale, eat your peas or you can’t play against the Thunder tonight.”
JaVale: “MOOOOM, none of the other guys on the team have to eat their peas!”

It is hard not to smile or laugh like a little child after seeing the Nuggets bench erupt in what is now being dubbed the ‘Italian celebration.” The kiss from Danilo is priceless.

Love the celebration, still not buying the Nuggets as a championship contender.
