With no Kevin Garnett, with no Rajon Rondo, the Celtics still gave LeBron James and the Miami Heat just about all they could handle on Monday night. A big reason for that was, of course, Jeff Green. Green’s 43-point night wasn’t enough to snap Miami’s now 23-game win streak, but it should be more than enough to convince Boston that it has the right stuff to make some noise against the Heat should the two teams meet again with the stakes a little higher. NESN.com’s Ben Watanabe joined Dan Duquette on the podcast Tuesday to break down Green’s night and what it means for the Celtics’ future. The two also discussed when the Heat will lose again, lamented the loss of the Big East Tournament and much more. Listen in the player below or subscribe on iTunes to download it there.

Jeff Green, Celtics Have Proven They Can Play With Elites, But Need to Take Care of Business Against Dregs

Well, that was awkward. Just two days after the world could not stop singing the Celtics’ praises after a loss, of all things, the green team went out Wednesday and laid an egg in the second half in the Big Easy. With the aid of a putrid third quarter, in which they shot 5-for-18 and mustered all of 12 points, the Celtics squandered a comfortable lead for the second time in two...

Recap: Celtics choke, lose to Hornets again

We’ve got ourselves a new candidate for worst loss of the season, folks. After a pretty comfortable first and sloppy, but still positive second, the Celtics came out in the third quarter and absolutely sucked.  They got down as much as 9 in the 4th before coming back to take a 5 point lead with 1:32 left.  But they never scored again, New Orleans went on a 6-0 run over the last...

Loss to Heat Provides Blueprint to Rediscovering Form

The Boston Celtics-Miami Heat matchup had it all. One team came in boasting a historical winning streak, while the other continued to defy the odds with every passing week. One team featured arguably the best player in the NBA right now, while the other featured a former...

Comments from the Other Side - Heat 3/18

I really, really dislike the Heat and their fans.  The majority of  Heat fans became fans when LeBron arrived.  They are fair weather fans  who trash their own players constantly when they miss a play or don't shoot well.  .  They also talk about how Celtics fans are complaining about the refs and then turn around and complain about the refs and the truth is that no team...

The Celtics didn't win, but they sent a message to Miami tonight: 'see you in the playoffs'

"There's no such thing as a good loss." I'd say that I agree with the above statement 99% of the time. Especially in professional sports. But the Celtics 105-103 loss to the Heat to the Heat tonight falls in the other 1%. Sure the loss sucked something fierce. A 17 point 1st half lead and a 13 point cushion with 8:27 to go fell by the wayside. Boston turned the...

Celtics-Heat Live: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade Look to Keep Streak Alive in Boston

8 a.m. ET: Kevin Garnett would not miss this one, would he? Garnett, who sat out Saturday’s game against the Bobcats with a strained muscle in his left thigh, has not said whether he will play Monday. The Celtics (36-29) sure would like him to, since their opponent is none other than LeBron James and the streaking Heat (51-14). The Heat come into Boston with something to prove...
