Part of being an NBA rookie is getting pranked. Some of the most famous pranks involve the rookie’s cars.
Jeff Withey of the New Orleans Pelicans got his rookie hazing on Thursday. Ryan Anderson, Jason Smith and Anthony Morrow are the pranksters.
It involved his car (a 2012 white Mercedes CLS), plastic Saran wrap and shaving cream. They wrote “Sweet Pea” on the windshield of the car.

When the then-New Orleans Hornets acquired Ryan Anderson via a sign-and-trade with the Magic in the 2012 offseason, they expected to get the sharpshooting power forward who blossomed into a star in his final year in Orlando. For the 2012-13 season, New Orleans got exactly that from him, as the former Nets draft pick scored 19.8 points and 6.5 boards per contest on 44 percent field...
Nikes on his feet, he’s not trying to cheat. Anthony Davis isn’t skipping a beat. This season hasn’t been like the Heat’s, but that’s for another tweet.
The New Orleans Pelicans haven’t had the most successful NBA season thus far. In fact, the team hasn’t been above the .500 mark at all this 2013-2014 season. The Pelicans play their best basketball when three scenarios...
Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there'll be ThrAGNOF! Full disclosure - I had to look up this song from that movie about a weird looking ginger chick and it's about coming of age or something. No, not Teeth! Last night, an injury-ravaged, de-taloned Pelicans went out and shocked the Clippers. Kevin Hart, apparently a big Clippers fan, got to travel with LA on...
New Orleans Pelicans point guard Brian Roberts did not participate in Wednesday morning’s shootaround and is questionable to play against the Los Angeles Clippers because of a bone bruise in his left knee.
Roberts injured his left knee with 5:23 remaining in the fourth quarter in Monday night’s 109-104 overtime victory against the Brooklyn Nets. An hour after the shootaround...
The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Brooklyn Nets on Monday by the score of 109-104. The win extended the Pelicans' winning streak to a modest three games, and improved their record to 30-50 on the season. The Pelicans have played without power forward Ryan Anderson since January 3, when he was injured against the Boston Celtics. Anderson will now miss the remaining 12...
Tyreke Evans had 22 points and a career-high 15 assists, and the short-handed Pelicans overcame the loss of Anthony Davis to extend their winning streak to a season-high five games, 102-95 victory over Utah on Friday night.
The New Orleans Pelicans say guards Eric Gordon, Brian Roberts and Austin Rivers have all been ruled out for Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Somewhere near and far, New Orleans Pelicans guards Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Austin Rivers and Brian Roberts sat and watched Wednesday's game unfold, recovering from their individual ailments.
Somehow, the Pelicans made due without their services.
With just two backcourt players available and the surging Los Angeles Clippers in town, the Pelicans pieced together a backcourt...

The New Orleans Pelicans beleaguered roster took another painful hit Friday night when Anthony Davis exited the game versus the Utah Jazz after playing just under 4 minutes.
Enes Kanter drove hard to the rim with Jeff Withey trailing on his hip and threw the hammer down.
Kanter recorded eight points, three rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a 102-95 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.
