Found April 30, 2012 on SportySexyCool:
PLAYERS: Jeremy Lin
TEAMS: New York Knicks

JEREMY LIN has become such an icon in New York that the 2012 graduating class of Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan invited the New York Knicks guard to speak at their graduating ceremony. Lin, who is recovering from knee surgery, had to decline the request but managed to put together a youtube video montage for Stuyvesant’s graduating class…

Lin was an obvious choice as speaker with his meteoric rise to NBA stardom being such an inspiration for Stuyvesant’s seniors, who as big Lin fans reached out to the star in an effort to get him to accept their invitation.

Jeremy is dead-on about those college years, though. There’s no better time in a young person’s life than those four years.

The rest of his message was very good advice as well…if you can get past the Steve Erkel frames.

Knicks to evaluate Lin later this week

The New York Knicks sound hopeful that Jeremy Lin's return to the lineup may come sooner than later. Lin did some on-court work in Miami for the fourth consecutive day, before the Knicks played the Miami Heat on Monday night in Game 2 of an Eastern Conference first-round playoff series. Game 3 isn't until Thursday in New York. The Knicks plan to practice on Tuesday and...

Knicks' Lin wants to return during first-round series

New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin went through some light drills on Sunday and said he hopes to return to action before the end of New York's first-round series against the Miami Heat. Lin, who had surgery on April 2 to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, had a bit of a setback Sunday when he experienced soreness in his knee, but he still would like to participate...

Knicks' Lin doubts he can play in Game 4

Jeremy Lin all but ruled himself out of Game 4 against the Miami Heat, still hoping he can return if the Knicks extend their first-round series. Lin said Sunday's game ''doesn't look great'' but that he doesn't know how he will feel if the Knicks are still playing next week. New York trails 2-0 going into Game 3 on Thursday night. Lin had surgery to...

Jeremy Lin Hopes to Return Soon, As Knicks Lack Depth in Backcourt

Game 1 of the playoffs didn't go very well for the New York Knicks. In addition to getting pounded 100-67 by the Miami Heat, the Knicks lost guard Iman Shumpert for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Jeremy Lin knows the Knicks will need his help if they want to give the Heat a battle during the first series, but he's still dealing with the...

Linsanity 2.0: The Playoffs?

The Miami Heat demolished the New York Knicks Saturday, winning 100-67.  Even worse news for the Knickerbockers was the loss of Iman Shumpert for the rest of the season (and probably the start of next season) with a torn ACL.  The Knicks had a problem before Shumpert left and that problem is called LeBron James.  Losing Shumpert means losing their best perimeter defender and...

Kreider’s Popularity Growing In NYC

from Tim Herrera of am NewYork, Jessica Kohler weighed in: “Linsanity was ridiculous, and #KREIDERMANIA is just plain awesome.” Wayne McDonnell, professor of sports management at NYU, said this is just what the city wants to see. “What we do best in New York is we love . . . the fighter, we love athlete’s who come out and are given that chance to shine,” he said. He...

Stoudemire's temper may cost him the playoffs

Amar'e Stoudemire's season may be over and, as a result, the Knicks' season might not be too far behind. While storming off the court following a 104-94 loss in Game 2 in Miami, which dropped the Knicks to 0-2 in this best-of-seven first round series, Stoudemire apparently slammed a fire extinguisher case with his left hand. He suffered a laceration, according to the...

Heat-Knicks Preview

Amare Stoudemire and Iman Shumpert are sidelined. Jeremy Lin isn't back yet. So where are the New York Knicks supposed to find enough offense to compete with the Miami Heat, and avoid setting a new NBA record for postseason futility? ''I don't know. We've got to figure that out,'' Carmelo Anthony said Wednesday. ''Some way, somehow, everybody...

Report: Knicks' Chandler to be named DPOY

This season for the New York Knicks has been one to forget for the most part. Aside from "Linsanity," the Knicks' season has been mired with injuries to key players such as Carmelo Anthony, Jeremy Lin, Amar'e Stoudemire, coaching change, and even Amar'e resorting to stupidity (punching glass on a fire extinguisher cover) in the series versus the Heat. Yes the...

Amar'e Stoudamire Saves Blogfrica

There really is a book, or a Lifetime movie, or some other melodramatic experience, waiting to be told about these New York Knicks. Tonight in Miami, Team Telenovela lost by 10 to the Heat, then punctuated the experience with Dumas (consonants dropped at the behest of my advertisers) big man Amar'e Stoudamire decided to show his displeasure by, I am not making this up, punching...
