The Celtics are reportedly close to signing two-time All-Star David West. And while the move should do a lot to improve the C's, it also leaves Jermaine O'Neal's future in Boston in doubt. O'Neal was slated to be the team's starting center this season, but acquiring West would likely mean Kevin Garnett will move to center while West plays power forward. It's believed that O'Neal could be part of a sign-and-trade deal with the Hornets in order to obtain West. O'Neal spoke about his future on Saturday, saying that even if he doesn't play with the C's this season, he...

Just two days after it looked like Hornets foward David West would become a Celtic, a report says the deal is off. On Friday, it was reported that the Celtics would send forward Jermaine O'Neal to the Hornets for West and sign him to a three-year deal. But on Sunday, the deal is now "dead" and the Indiana Pacers are now the frontrunners to sign West, according to TNT...
Per multiple reports, two time all-star forward David West has agreed to play for the Indiana Pacers next season. West signed a two-year deal with the Pacers for about $20 mil, according to indystar.com: David West, the Pacers’ likely starting power forward, agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal Sunday afternoon. “David looks at the [...]
According to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, The David West deal is waiting on the NBA. Unlike the previous report that said Jermaine O'Neal and Sasha Pavlovic were the other pieces in the deal, it now looks as though our rookies JaJuan Johnson and E'Twan Moore are being discussed. I really hope we don't lose our rookies, I am really excited to see them in Celtics green.
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
As free-agent forward David West and the Boston Celtics work to complete a difficult sign-and-trade deal, the Indiana Pacers have positioned themselves to sign the power forward should talks with the Celtics...
The Boston Celtics are close to reaching a deal with free-agent forward David West, according to an NBA.com report citing a source close to the situation.
Danny Ainge made a valid bid to get David West in a Celtics uniform but West ultimately wanted more money. The Celtics were offering in the neighborhood of $8.4 million per year. My guess is that when a guy like West sees DeAndre Jordan get an offer sheet of $10 million per year, he and his agent had to reconsider what Boston was able to offer.
The failed acquisition of West should...

A deal that would send David West to the Celtics via sign-and-trade fell apart, leading him to sign a two-year, $20 million deal with Indiana.
Doesn’t it feel like David West sort of belongs on the Celtics? He has a little dog in him, and maybe it’s just us, but he seems like a great fit up there. Luckily for Boston fans, Danny Ainge agrees with us, and as of now, the Celtics are on the verge of adding the [...]
David West signs a 2 year deal with the Pacers...projected as starting forward...a mere 2 hour drive up I-74 to see a former XU great in action. Plus lots of Indy alums who can watch him every night.
A championship? Someone tell David West he's playing for the Pacers.
I'll give Danny Ainge credit for trying to make moves. But at some point, he's gotta make a bigger splash than Brandon Bass. When's he going to use the mini MLE?
Now this is kind of funny. As last as this morning, we all thought that David West was signed, sealed and delivered for Boston. But now it appears that Larry Bird has stolen West from their clutches at the last second. The Legend took care of business by hanging back and waiting for his time [...]
The Indiana Pacers' patience during the first part of the free-agency period has paid off. David West, the Pacers' likely starting power forward, agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal Sunday afternoon.
