SSI.com has reported that former Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan is interested in making a return to coaching and that the head coaching spot of the New York Knicks would interest him. Sloan who stepped down in the middle of the 2010-2011 NBA season after coaching the Jazz for 23 years has a career coaching record of 2024 wins and 1221, which includes three years as the Chicago Bulls head coach from 1979-1982. The Sloan lead Jazz lost back to back NBA finals appearances in 1997 and 1998 to Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls.

Millsap stole the ball twice in the final minute of overtime, made a key jumper and fed Hayward for a dunk as Utah scored the final six points.
