Memphis Grizzlies reserves Jerryd Bayless and Tony Wroten played well in extended time off the bench Friday night in a blowout 101-77 win over the Brooklyn Nets. Bayless neared a triple double with 11 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. He added a steal and played 30 minutes. This was easily his best game since October. Wroten scored a career-high 11 points to go with four rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes. The rookie hasn't done much, playing in only nine games this season. This could be an anomaly since this was a blowout. But it's worth watching how they respond with Wayne Ellington and Josh Selby out of the rotation. Darrell Arthur's big night appears to be a fluke. In 20 minutes, he scored six points, grabbed five rebounds and blocked a shot. Leave him alone.

Report: Delonte West is officially D-League bound

The speculation that the Memphis Grizzlies were considering signing Delonte West did not hold much weight, but his next destination appears fairly concrete and is even outside of the NBA. No, there are not any overseas plans for West in the works but the veteran guard could have a D-League future ahead of him if ESPN.com reports hold true. According to Marc Stein, West has filed...

Grizzlies still off to best season in team history

The Memphis Grizzlies are busy learning how to deal with success. Sure, Memphis has been a good team reaching the playoffs the previous two seasons and even played in the Western Conference semifinals in 2011. The Grizzlies followed that up with their best winning percentage in last year's lockout-shortened season. But their sizzling 12-2 start this season ratcheted up expectations...

Grizzlies Rumors: No More Trades Likely for Memphis

The Memphis Grizzlies completed a three-for-one trade last week that helped them get under the luxury tax line. They were able to do so without shipping out any of their core players, and CEO Jason Levien said earlier this week that the team is “more likely to do nothing” by the NBA’s upcoming trade deadline, according to Ronald Tillery of Commercial Appeal.Griz CEO Jason Levien...

Report: Celtics, Grizzlies Have Held Exploratory Trade Talks Involving Gay, Gasol & Pierce

So it’s premature, to me, to throw Pierce’s name up there with Rudy Gay and Pau Gasol on the list of high-profile names available this trade season, even though we’ve heard more than one rival team speculate — given that the Celtics and Grizzlies, sources say, have indeed held some exploratory trade talks since Gay hit the market — that a three-way deal where Pierce lands...

Reggie Evans Upset Grizzlies Left Starters In During Blowout

But when Memphis coach Lionel Hollins opted to send starting center Marc Gasol back into the game with the Grizzlies holding a 20-point lead with less than four minutes left, Evans couldn’t take it any more. He rose up off the bench and yelled over to Gasol several times while Gasol stood at the scorer’s table waiting to check in. “That was the point where I was like, ‘Wow’…I...
