If Orlando Magic guard JJ Redick was a fan of Justin Bieber, he would not be the first grown man to have come down with a case of Bieber Fever. The Biebs typically appeals to young girls between the ages of 8 and 15, but there are many exceptions. Redick may have attended Bieber’s concert at the Amway Center in Orland last week, but he insists it was not his choice. “A happy wife is a happy life,” Redick told the Orlando Sentinel. “I have a general rule that if I have an off-day during the season that I owe it to her to do what she wants unless it’s harmful to my well-being. Her and her friends wanted to go.” Sure thing, bro. Redick said he is not a Bieber fan and that he prefers Indie rock. “I do not have Bieber Fever,” Redick added, via the Orlando Sentinel’s Josh Robbins. “But I will say that I respect talent. I always respect talent. I’m not a hater. So I’m not a Bieber hater or anything like that. He at one point played acoustic guitar, the drums, the piano. He sang melodies. He sang love songs. He sang pop songs. He sang a rap song at one point. He danced like he was a puppet. I mean, it was incredible. So I have nothing against his talent. It’s just not my taste in music at all.” He was also asked about Australian teen pop singer Cody Simpson, who opened up for Bieber. “I don’t know who Cody Simpson is,” he explained. “We got there as he was kind of finishing up his last song. I just know he had a great head of hair and was wearing a wifebeater, and the teenage girls seemed to really love him.” We all do some things we don’t enjoy to please our significant others, but JJ has teen pop fan written all over him. If college football recruits like this dude and MLB pitchers can admit they have Bieber Fever, there’s nothing to be ashamed of. If Redick didn’t like it, he would have let his wife go with her friends instead of tagging along. We know how it goes.
