Moving forward in the Summer League recaps its time to check out another game, this time looking at former North Carolina Basketball player John Henson, who was taken 14th in this past draft. In this game his Milwaukee Bucks (2-1) defeated the NBA D-League Select team (1-2) by eleven points, with the final tally being 88 to 77 in a game that was played at the Cox Pavilion, Las Vegas, NV.

In this game, where the power forward played just under 38 minutes, Henson was once again was close to a double double, scoring 15 points (6 for 14 ~ 1 for 1 ~ 2 for 2) to go with eight rebounds, four block shots, an assist, a steal and a pts differential of +4. For those that followed the young man through out his career at Chapel Hill watching him being 6 for 6 from the charity stripe in the Vegas Tournament is pretty amazing as Henson was definitely not close to perfect in his three seasons under head coach Roy Williams. The one thing that those that did not watch the game could not have seen is that while four blocks was impressive you can add another four altered shots to that stat as Henson was able to do that, if not more. To be added to that, the 6’11″/216 lbs forward does not bite on head fakes, which should be good for staying away from foul trouble.

In the end it is nice to see John Henson performing the way he has been, working hard on both sides of the ball. For the former North Carolina Basketball player who a lot believe, including myself, needs to bulk up some to play at his best at the next level, being close to a double double in both game he has played has to make himself and his franchise good about taking him as a lottery pick. For more information about present and former players to have called Chapel Hill home during their college careers make sure to check out isportsweb often.
