For a little guy, Washington Wizards' John Wall sure can bring down the house with some outstanding dunks. Case in point - Washington's visit to Boston to face the Celtics where Wall threw one down on Boston's big man Greg Stiemsma. And if you are like me and thought, " Who in the heck is this Greg dude?," well this will sure make you remember him going forward courtesy of Wall.Check out Wall crushing one on Stiemsma including the stare-down which resulted in a tech. But if you are Wall, you might be thinking it was worth the tech. Oh and wait until you hear JaVale McGee screaming his head off as if he got the highlight dunk. [follow]

Video: John Wall dunks on 6'11 center

Greg Stiemsma a 6’11 undrafted free agent had his first career start for the Boston Celtics tonight. I’d have to say thanks to John Wall of the Washington Wizards it was a memorable one but for the wrong reason. Wall had a highlight reel dunk on/over him. Now in all honesty, Stiemsma did have a good first start. He scored 13 points with seven rebounds and two blocks over 21...

John Wall dunks, gets technical foul

The Wizards still haven’t won a game, but they keep adding to the highlight reel. This one is notable for two reasons: it’s a pretty swell dunk by John Wall, and he was given a technical foul for preening and/or continuing to exist after the dunk. I do love to criticize players for celebrating individual plays during losses, but I’m not sure how the world was made a better...

Wall: Wizards Playing Selfishly On Both Ends Of Floor

John Wall expressed his disappointment with the Wizards' play.

John Wall shines, but Rajon Rondo is better as Celtics top Wizards

Before the start of Sunday’s game against Boston, Wizards Coach Flip Saunders told John Wall to have fun again. The point guard did just that, and as a result, Wall turned in his best game statistically. The No. 1 overall pick in 2010 had a team-high 19 points and eight assists, and he added seven rebounds, a steal and a block in nearly 39 1 / 2 minutes. That production, however...

Celtics 100, Wizards 92: Stiemsma, Allen lead third straight Celtics win against another miserable team

The Boston Celtics have returned to .500. Greg Stiemsma looks like a legitimate backup center (although he started this affair). The Washington Wizards are not good. Boston spent three quarters treading water but applied a finishing kick that left the Wizards in their wake, giving way to a 100-92 victory.Including work, I’ve been writing more or less consecutively since 9 a.m...

Tony Kornheiser and David Aldridge on John Wall

Just before the NBA season began, Jason Reid wrote a column speculating about the challenges the Wizards would face keeping John Wall in D.C. for the long-term. Here’s the one paragraph summary: The Wizards are in no danger of losing Wall soon. They control his rights for at least another three seasons beyond this one, which they begin Monday night against the New Jersey Nets at...

Celtics win 100-92 over the Washington Wizards & Improve to 3-3

Tonight the Boston Celtics faced off against the athletic, John Wall powered, Washington Wizards. The Celtics were looking to get back to a .500 record, after the convincing 94-86 win last night with Rajon Rondo leading the way. The Wizards were grasping for their first win of the season (and the new year) after racking up their 4th loss (0-4). With Jermaine O'Neal out for the...

Pressure Mounts on Celtics Rookie to Enter Hall of Fame

DATELINE: HUMOR!Greg Stiemsma was relatively unknown, the token blond guy at the end of the bench. Then, something funny happened on the way to the playoffs. The tall guy who seemed to be a joke wasn’t laughing. He was ready to be shipped out of town as soon as GM Danny Ainge gathered a few dollars together to pay for a broken down journeyman to play on the Celtics. Greg has now...

O’Neal taking an active role

WASHINGTON - On one play last night, Celtics center Jermaine O’Neal tried to dunk lefthanded on the Wizards’ JaVale McGee after a behind-the-back dish from Rajon Rondo. Perhaps it was the criticism he received after scoring just 8 points in the first three games, but O’Neal has been an aggressive and productive scorer the past two games.

The Celtics outscored the Wizards 31-22 in the 4th quarter last night, surging to a nice home win.  Ray Allen (27 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal) and Paul Pierce (21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal) led the way for the Celtics in this game.  Brandon Bass (14 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist in 31 minutes), Greg Stiemsma (13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and...
