Heat forward LeBron James has been lights out in his past seven games. James has been scoring at will and has lead the Heat on a seven game winning streak. LeBron has had record performance with at least 30 points and 60 percent shooting in six straight games. Anytime an all-star player is on a great streak, the media and fans start up the debate who is the best player to have played in the NBA.  Some judge greatness by Championships while others grade a player by individual achievements. There will never be a clear winner due to the fact everyone has their own opinion and makes for great conversation. With Michael Jordan’s 50th birthday around the corner there have been articles focusing on his play, legacy, and even his Air Jordan shoe line. One topic of choice is will LeBron become a better player than Jordan. Sports talk shows and websites started taking a side and defending their view. James is now to some moving past Kobe Bryant as the NBA’s best player in some parts of this country. Jordan weighed in with his own opinion. In an interview with NBA TV Jordan told the show, “Five beats one every time I look at it. And not that (James) won’t get five. He may get more than that, but five is bigger than one.” Some go right after Jordan’s words saying Kobe has been in the league longer than James and Jordan didn’t win a NBA title until later on in his career. LeBron was asked about MJ’s words and he replied, “It doesn’t matter to me. If you take Kobe one and I go second, it doesn’t matter. I don’t get too involved in what guys say about me or if you take Kobe or if you take LeBron. As long as I’m on the floor and I make plays for my teammates, I don’t do what I do for other people’s approval.” To me James used to get rattled by the media, but now anymore. Ever since he won a ring he looks to have one thing on his mind, to win another one and another. Maybe his famous, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7′ titles line during the Heat’s introduction of their big three might come true and King James won’t need a jester in his court to create laughter. It will be James laughing at the haters and doubters. Only time will tell to see how many rings he will have before he leaves the game.
