If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Kenneth Faried by now, it’s that he just goes all-out on the court and doesn’t let anything distract him. The Manimal is so tenacious on the court that he even got inside Dwight Howard’s head in a recent game, leading to the Lakers center’s ejection.
When the second-year forward was informed of his monstrous stat line following Denver’s 108-105 win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night, he was so surprised he let out an s-bomb.
“19 and 19, did you think you were going to have a night like that?” Faried was asked.
“S—, I didn’t even know!” an impressed Faried exclaimed. “Excuse me! I didn’t even know. I didn’t even know. But I’m happy we got the win.”
His reaction was fantastic, and even the broadcast team didn’t seem to mind it because it was so genuine. This is the sort of thing coaches should be showing their players. While some guys will keep count of their stats and actually correct the stat keepers, others like Faried pu

Although it seems pretty bad, Dwight Howard is saying his shoulder injury isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. The Los Angeles Lakers announced that Howard had a torn labrum in his shoulder, but Howard clarified yesterday. He said the injury is actually a separation from the bone - still a tear, though in medical terms.Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles says...
On the bright side for Kobe at least he isn’t getting divorced anymore. Call me crazy, but I think Bean is taking the losses a little harder than Dwight Howard.
Remember when Jim Buss said it is 95% that Dwight re-signs with Lakers?
He might have been using Romney math with that one.
What chemistry issues?
The comedy that is the Lakers’ 2012-13 season kicked up a notch recently when the New York Daily News reported that Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard were involved in a “heated exchange” following the team’s loss to the Knicks on New Year’s Day. But while the news led to further speculation that the Lakers are a team in disarray, a photo tweeted out by...
This is a story or an idea that will not seem to go away.
Like a jilted girlfriend, there are still some feelings. And the idea of a reunion just will not die.
So when Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel writes:
In other words, it's easy for the Magic to say they won't pursue Dwight now when they know they don't have a snowball's chance in Haiti of getting...
You heard about Kobe an Dwight almost throwing hooks in the locker room …..well here’s the actual photo.
Yes, we know this isn’t an actual photo.
Kudos though to Kobe trying to make light of a serious situation in Los Angeles.
First there were rumors that Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard had some sort of altercation on New Year’s day after Kobe allegedly called called Dwight “soft.” To add fuel to that rumor, there were whispers that Dwight’s “praise” of this season’s Clippers great chemistry were related to problems within the Lakers locker room. On [...]
Things haven’t been what the Lakers organization or fans expected this year after signing Dwight Howard and Steve Nash in the off-season. Once arguably the “Greatest Show On Court,” the Lakers are now the greatest show off it.
After dropping another game last night to the Spurs head coach Mike D’Antoni cracked a “joke” that probably sums up his current state of mind....
More bad news in Laker land. The injury bug has bitten once again. Just two weeks after Steve Nash finally returned tot he court with his teammates, now Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard are out indefinitely. Dwight Howard suffered a torn labrum in his right shoulder during the Lakers loss to the Nuggets on Sunday. [...]
At the beginning of the season, it seemed like the Lakers had it all. Kobe Bryant, one of the best players in NBA history. Dwight Howard, who is widely considered as the best center in the game. Steve Nash, who will end his career as one of the top three assist leaders in NBA history. Pau Gasol, one of the top five international players to ever play the game. Not to mention a supporting...
The Mike D'Antoni error is in full swing in the Los Angeles. Remember when Steve Nash's return was going to save the Lakers? Ah, seems like only yesterday. Well, it was only about two weeks ago. And now we have reports that Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard almost got into it in the locker room. Welcome to LA, the land of soap operas.Since Steve Nash returned from his leg injury...
Tweet With injuries to Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, and Jordan Hill the Los Angeles Lakers are thin in the frontcourt, allowing rookie center Robert Sacre to make his first NBA start on Tuesday. The little used big man hasn’t made much of an impact on the court, but has managed to make his way [...]
It turns out that the season is still not miserable enough for the Lakers (15-18). Yesterday, the team reported that Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill will be out of commission for several days to to their various injuries. This is coming with the Lakers looking at their toughest stretch of their schedule facing the Spurs, Thunder and Heat in the days ahead. Not to mention...
