While the Knicks await the return of Tyson Chandler, they can take comfort in knowing that at least some good has come out of their All-Star center’s absence. Without Chandler filling the paint on defense, Kenyon Martin has been thrust into a key role. He has come through over and over. Now that the playoffs are looming, the Knicks look to be in strong position to make some noise. The discovery of Martin is key, as the veteran big man bolsters their frontcourt, which has been decimated by injuries. The Knicks’ resurgence is bad news for the Celtics, who look destined for no better than the No. 7 seed in the East. A recent falloff in play and a second wave of key injuries has hit the Celtics hard, and the returns of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are still open-ended. This could be a quick playoff run for the Celtics. Meanwhile, Kings fans are biting their fingernails nervously even though their team is nowhere near playoff contention. Representatives from Sacramento and Seattle will ...

Update: Kenyon Martin’s Knee, Tyson’s Neck and Woody’s Thoughts

Looks like his knee soreness is nothing more than “being thrown into the fire” after sitting at home for so long. The Knicks need to monitor his knee because Kenyon is very important to the Knicks for the rest of the year and playoffs. Tyson is a different story. Not sure what percentage he is at, but his mobility did not look good tonight. If he needs to rest then so be it....

Day in Dunking NBA Edition: Kenyon Martin Posterizes the Birdman

Kenyon Martin has been at  it for some time in the NBA. Needless to say the man has dunked his fair share of balls in his day. This jam in Tuesday night's win over the Miami Heat has to be one of the best he has had in recent history. In it he blends the just right amount of power to knock the Birdman back, but what I love the most is that he did enough posturing for Birdman...

Kenyon Martin Puts Chris “Birdman” Anderson On A Poster

Kenyon Martin threw down a powerful two-handed dunk on his former teammate Chris “Birdman” Anderson during the Knicks over the Heat. Early in the fourth quarter, Knicks point guard Raymond Felton drove the baseline, drawing three Heat players to him, which left a streaking Martin wide open in the middle of the lane. Felton dumped the ball off to Martin who finished with authority...

Dunk of the night: Kenyon Martin posterizes his former teammate Chris Birdman Anderson

Kenyon Martin Puts Birdman On A Poster

Kenyon Martin and Chris “Birdman” Andersen have both been great late-season additions for their respected teams, but Martin got the best of his former Nuggets teammate with this major throwdown in the fourth quarter of the Knicks 102-90 victory in Miami Tuesday. Martin had 9 points and 6 rebounds in the win.

Kenyon Martin Would 'Love' To Remain With Knicks

It took longer than expected for Kenyon Martin to find an NBA home this season, but the veteran forward is glad he landed with the New York Knicks.

The New York Knicks recent 8 game winning streak has demonstrated the team who rushed out to a 18-6 start is still capable of showing up for an extended period of time. At the same time, it has shown the player JR Smith is truly capable of being and the value of Kenyon Martin and Pablo Prigioni (8-0 as a starter!) to the playoff rotation. Yet, for all the pats on the back the Knicks...
