Kenyon Martin was once one of the surest things in basketball.  This was while he was still playing at Cincinnati of course, but he was good.  Then he hurt himself, fell in the NBA draft, and never developed into the superstar most people thought he would be.  But he carved out a serviceable NBA career to this point.  Now, Martin is without a team, but he is willing to play for league minimum salary. Teams may be concerned because of the knee injuries that limited Martin last season.  During the shortened 2011-12 season, Martin averaged just 5.2 points per game.  Yet, he still believes he has something to offer NBA teams.  Martin told Yahoo! Sports that he wants to play, he wants to make sure people don't buy into the misconceptions about him, and he is willing to take league minimum salary. "If someone calls me tomorrow, I don't care who it is, whether it's losing or winning at this point," Martin said. "If someone calls me tomorrow and wants me to come in, I'm going. Guys are going down and [teams] are like, 'Well, we are going to stick with what we got.' I'm like, 'Really?' I started questioning myself, 'Am I that bad of a guy?' "Martin talked about the belief that he can't be control, that he doesn't follow direction.  He said that was a misconception and he's not sure where it came from.  Martin just wants another chance to prove he can contribute. But he'll have his work cut out for him.  Martin has declined in average points per game in each season since the 2007-08 season.  In his career, he is averaging 13.0 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game.  Martin likely does have something left, and if he is really willing to play for league minimum, he will get a job.  But for now, the 34-year old veteran forward is unemployed.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
