Believe it or not, the one accolade you’d expect Carmelo Anthony to have, he doesn’t. Many have attached the label of best all-around scorer to Anthony’s name for several years now. Melo can take you inside or out and is a beast on the offensive end. Even Kobe Bryant gave Melo praise as he said he’s the toughest player for him to guard. This season Carmelo has his best shot at winning his first scoring title as a pro. Melo currently is sporting a 28.1 point per game average. The man he trails? That would be Oklahoma City Thunder superstar, Kevin Durant (28.3) who happens to be Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks opponent this Sunday in Oklahoma. Via Royce Young of the Daily Thunder: KD on the scoring title race with Carmelo Anthony: “He can have it.” — Royce Young (@dailythunder) April 4, 2013   KD “I really wanted my first one. Now it’s cool, don’t get my wrong, I never want to take stuff for granted, but if it happens, it happens.” — Royce Young (@dailythunder) April 4, 2013 Carmelo is currently on a scoring tear of late as he notched 50  points against the Miami Heat and 40 points against the Atlanta Hawks. Kevin Durant shares part of the scoring load with Russell Westbrook, so it would seem as if Carmelo would have the better chance to win the scoring title this year. However, that hasn’t stopped Durant from being the scoring champion each of the past three seasons. Why does Melo not get the respect and...
