Kevin Love has battled a right hand injury all season and now aims a mid-to-late March return, that would allow the Wolves star to play in the team’s last 15-20 games. Love is currently resting his surgically repaired third metacarpal in his right hand that he injured on Jan. 3 in Denver. Love also missed the first few weeks of the season with a fractured right hand injury and has only appeared in 18 games this season. Love was impressive when able to play, averaging 18.3 points and 14 rebounds in those games. Love’s worth to the Timberwolves is no big secret, and as he’s battled hand issues all season, the T-Wolves have struggled to form a real identity. Minnesota currently sits at 20-33, which is last in the Northwest division. Love’s goal of returning for the last dozen games or so will be nothing more than a good look for Timberwolves’ fans and hopefully a strong finish to what has been a disappointing season in Minnesota. The Timberwolves will only go as far as Kevin Loves takes them, and to be effective, Love must stay healthy and in games. Teams often have a hard time competing and really forming a true identity when they’re without their best player. Ricky Rubio, who looks to serve as Love’s running mate in Minnesota also battled early season back issues. It looks like nothing more than a wasted season for Minnesota, one fans will look to forget, as they keep their eyes looking forward at a healthy 2013-14 campaign. Wolves disappointed after another close loss

MINNEAPOLIS The chances were there for the Minnesota Timberwolves to win. But after several missed opportunities, Sunday's game finished just like too many others have this year. Unable to make plays down the stretch, the Wolves fell by one to the visiting Golden State Warriors...

Ricky Rubio nearly triple-doubles with 16 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds (video)

Ricky Rubio made some sweet dishes in Minnesota's loss Sunday to the Golden State Warriors. Visual evidence of that after the jump. The phenomenal point guard nearly triple-doubled with 16 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, and six steals. Rubio looked like the pre-ACL tear Rubio. He also did some very Rubio things, making just 3-of-11 shots and turning the ball over six...
