SACRAMENTO -- The Sacrament Kings didn't dominate, but they held on for a 124-118 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night at Sleep Train Arena before an announced crowd of 12,194. DeMarcus Cousins led the Kings (14-24) with 26 points, 14 rebounds and six assists. Marcus Thornton scored 20 off the bench, Tyreke Evans had 18, and reserve Jimmer Fredette added 16. Rookie Dion Waiters scored a career-high 33 points for Cleveland (9-31). Sacramento ended its four-game losing streak thanks to balanced scoring. Six Kings players reached double figures, as the offense produced the victory. The Kings surrendered a season-high 128 to the Miami Heat in a loss Saturday night. Cleveland entered the game averaging 94.4 points. The Kings did a solid job on Cleveland's second-year point guard Kyrie Irving, who was limited to a 15 point on 6-of-19 shooting. Defending Waiters was another story. The fourth pick of the 2012 draft was close to unstoppable no matter the def...
BEST OF MAXIM
They shared the ball well. They were able to make shots — they made a lot of shots tonight. We contested them. I think we did a pretty good job on the defensive end.
– Cleveland Cavaliers Dion Waiters, Tuesday night, after his team gave up a season-worst 124 points (on 51.2 percent shooting) in a loss to the Sacramento Kings. The Kings (14-24) score an average of 97.7 points...
When Dion Waiters has a night like this, it gives you hope.
Yes, the Cavaliers dumped a 124-118 decision to the host Sacramento Kings on Monday night. Yes, they treated defense like some sort of nasty shellfish allergy. And yes, the Cavs were swept by a team that has one eye on the door, as the franchise gears for a move out of town.
But Waiters, man, that was something else.
Dion Waiters came off the Cavaliers' bench last night to attempt 18 field goals in 26 minutes.
He made seven, finished with 15 points and the Cavs lost to the Lakers by 20 in Los Angeles.
The 7-18 shooting display from Waiters, to be fair, was certainly not without it's cringe-worthy moments.
It also marked the 18th time in 31 games that Dion shot less than...
TNT NBA analyst Charles Barkley is never one to mince words, so when he was asked what his advice to Sacramento Kings forward DeMarcus Cousins would be, he kept it short and simple.
“Grow up”, Barkley told ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption on Wednesday. “Just grow up. He’s got a world of talent…he’s not in college anymore. We’re men. NBA stands for No Babies Allowed...
SACRAMENTO -- This was no time for Sacramento Kings coach Keith Smart to be picky. He and his team needed a victory, so although there was no domination, holding on for a 124-118 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night was just fine. An announced crowd of 12,194 at Sleep Train Arena watched DeMarcus Cousins lead the Kings with 26 points, 14 rebounds, six assists...
It's pretty funny to see this guy's attempt at being a hard-ass without cracking a smile while Dirk dicks around with him.
Being a Kings security guard can't be an easy task -- I'm sure they're always on high alert because DeMarcus Cousins could snap at any time and choke anyone in the building.
It was pretty funny that both announcers noted the security guard...
Kyrie Irving, Tristan Thompson, Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller.
Cavaliers fans should be repeating those four names over and over again -- especially after losses like Sundays 113-93 hammer job delivered by the Lakers.
Thats because Irving, Thompson, Waiters and Zeller are the future. Theyre the second- and first-year guys who the Cavs are counting on heavily today, and will likely...
Demarcus Cousins had a field day against the Cavaliers skinny, thin, and weak frontcourt. The immensely talented and often troubled center compiled 26 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 blocks as the Cavaliers rallied to cut the lead to three but were unable to break through as they lost to the Kings in Sacramento 124-118 after yielding 69 first half points. Dion Waiters turned...

SACRAMENTO -- The Sacramento Kings hung on down the stretch for a 95-94 victory over the Washington Wizards Wednesday night before an announced crowd of 11,622 at Sleep Train Arena. The victory enabled the Kings to close out their five-game home stand with two straight wins, while the Wizards opened their five-game road swing with a disappointing defeat. The Kings (15-24) were...

This was an enjoyable back-and-forth from two “Cleveland-Raised-Basketball-Writer-in-Exile” on comparing the Kings-Browns situations: “First of all, the fact that the...
