Kings G League Player Admits To Murdering Victim Using HDMI Cord
Sergio Estrada-USA TODAY Sports

The harrowing story of Stockton Kings player Chance Comanche kidnapping and murdering 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers made headlines around the country last week. More details on what happened have finally been revealed, with Comanche allegedly revealing the exact way he and Sakari Harnden pulled off the murder of Rodgers, strangling her with an HDMI cord

Comanche described Rodgers as a 'trick', who agreed to engage in 'kinky s*x' and be paid $1,000 for it with Comanche. Under this guise, she agreed to have her hands zip-tied in the car. This rendered her defenseless, as Comanche placed an HDMI cord around her neck from the backseat for 10 seconds until the victim started struggling to breathe.

This prompted Harnden to go to the front seat where Rodgers was choking and finish the job off by manually choking her with her hands. Comanche told investigators that they proceeded to drive around to look for a place to dispose of the body. They found a ditch on the side of Vincenzo Lane in Henderson, where they left her body and moved rocks over it so she wasn't easily visible. Her cell phone was also smashed by the killers.

Rodgers' body wasn't found for 10 days until Comanche was arrested and helped investigators locate where the body was dumped. He and Harnden both face one count of open murder, with Comanche expected to be extradited to Las Vegas from the Sacramento County Jail, where he was initially booked.

Naturally, the Stockton Kings have cut any affiliation they had with the player, especially given the fact he committed this heinous crime while traveling with the team for a game in Vegas.

More Details On This Situation

Comanche has cooperated with investigators so far, revealing much information about how he and Harnden pulled this off. They started planning for it in November, as seen in messages shared between Harnden and Comanche, who had met a year and a half ago on a dating app.

The motive came from Harnden fearing for her life after Rodgers threatened to kill her over a Rolex. Comanche and Harden decided to kill Rodgers when Comanche's Stockton Kings came to Vegas after one of his friends, 'Tre', declined to be the assassin.

The LVPD has accurately tracked Comanche's vehicle to a liquor store, using cell towers to see where everyone was on the night. They accurately determined that Rodgers was with Harnden and Comanche at 1:21 A.M., and likely dead by 2:18 A.M. when all three phones pinged off a different tower.

Comanche and Harnden got home at around 6 A.M. after their late-night killing, with Comanche leaving Vegas two hours later with the rest of the Stockton Kings. Harnden left Comanche's hotel room at 10:24 A.M. visibly upset. Both individuals will face trial and likely face guilty convictions for their horrific actions.
