Kings G League Player Charged With Murder-Kidnapping To Face Judge
Sergio Estrada-USA TODAY Sports

Former Sacramento Kings G League (Stockton Kings) player Chance Comanche was arrested on December 15 for charges that were amended to conspiracy to commit murder and kidnapping. He was released from the team the same day. Since his arrest, Comanche, 27, admitted his involvement in the murder of 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers.

Comanche and his former girlfriend, Sakari Harnden, lured Rodgers to her death on the night of December 5 after creating a plan during the preceding week. Comanche was in Las Vegas with the Stockton Kings for a G League game that night. The two buried Rodgers in a ditch on the side of the road in the desert, and police were able to locate the body after Comanche pointed out the location on a map.

Comanche was arrested in Sacramento County, CA, by the FBI and extradited to Clark County, NV, on December 31. Following his extradition, Comanche is set to face a Clark County judge for an initial appearance on Tuesday, January 2.

Harnden was arrested in Las Vegas and is awaiting a preliminary hearing as well, scheduled for Wednesday, January 3, according to the Associated Press

Comanche initially signed with the Kings in 2022 and resigned in October 2023.
