The New York Knicks have ruled forward Amare Stoudemire out for the first two games of their second-round series against the Indiana Pacers, according to Ian Begley of ESPN New York.Knicks coach Mike Woodson said that he has targeted Game 3 of the series as the date for Stoudemire’s return. Woodson added that Stoudemire will scrimmage against his teammates on Thursday, and if all goes well he’ll suit up for Saturday’s Game 3 matchup with the Pacers."If he feels fine after Friday, then I think we will play him Saturday," Woodson said.Stoudemire has been sidelined since March 7 due to a knee injury. He underwent surgery to clear debris from the ailing knee on March 11.In his place, the Knicks have mostly used veteran forward Kenyon Martin. Considering how well Martin has performed over the past two months, Stoudemire’s return isn’t expected to cut into his minutes too much. Instead, it will likely mean a decrease in time for Steve Novak, who’s been hampered by injury anyway.Follow @hoopsinjurynews

J.R. Smith Rips Bandwagon Knicks Fans, Says He Wasn’t Partying (Photo)

Knicks guard J.R. Smith has done a pretty good job of trying to avoid meltdowns and becoming a distraction to his team.  In the last week though, Smith has caught flak for partying it up before the Knicks game four loss to the Celtics. The Knicks were able to move on and win the series, so no big deal.  Now Smith is on the radar for allegedly partying to hard Saturday night, hours...

Pablo Prigioni displays masterful flopping skill against Celtics (Video)

New York Knicks guard Pablo Prigioni proved himself to be a master flopper while drawing fouls against the Boston Celtics in two separate instances during Friday night's Game 6 of their NBA Eastern Conference playoff series. In the second quarter, Prigioni was able to draw some light contact on Jason Terry, but fell backwards as if Terry had ran him over. In the third...

JR Smith shares NBA bandwagon fan transfer form after Knicks’ Game 1 loss

Sixth Man of the Year JR Smith is giving Knicks fans the opportunity to hop off the New York playoff bandwagon through his Instagram account.

Why Iman Shumpert Will Serve As X-Factor For Knicks Against the Pacers

To many Knicks fans' displeasure, Coach Mike Woodson sometimes tends to prefer isolation offense more than anything else. Of course, there are times where Woodson is simply otherwise forced to depend on such offense, feeding the ball to the likes of Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith, milking them both for all they've got.As the Knicks know quite well, such a strategy still leaves...

NY Knicks: J.R. Smith learning a lot about being a leader, he may be too intoxicated to retain it

New York Knicks fans definitely have an idea of the head-case that is J.R. Smith. They put up with it because, on most occasions, the Sixth Man of the Year Smith shows up for games. However, during the Knicks first round series against the Celtics and, after game one against the Indiana Pacers, the ugly Smith showed up.  Why? Maybe because the Sixth Man has become the Party-Man...

Knicks nearly blow huge lead, survive

Leave it to the Knicks to be up 26 points in the fourth quarter of a playoff game and nearly blow it. A 75-49 cruise became a dogfight in the blink of an eye Friday night, with New York barely holding on to advance to the second round in the least celebratory way possible. The Celtics went on a 20-0 run in the fourth quarter, despite having amassed just 49 points in the game up...

Knicks, Pacers struggling with isolation

Carmelo Anthony did not have a "hot spot" on the floor against the Celtics. The New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers will renew their postseason rivalry beginning with Game 1 on Sunday at 3:30 ET on ABC. This marks the seventh postseason meeting all-time between the Pacers and Knicks. The teams split the previous six meetings, 3-3. The interesting thing about this matchup...

Notes From Game 1: Pacers Stifle The Knicks

New series, same old story. You can finesse the narrative however you want, it boils down to the cold hard facts: Carmelo Anthony's name may as well be Buck, and he comes to chuck. If he's hitting, the Knicks are reeeeally hard to beat (he was basically NBA Jams "On FIRE" for his 10 games in April, averaging 36.9 ppg on 53.6% shooting, including a mind melting...

Knicks, Pacers Likely Battling for Nothing More Than Honor of Losing to Heat in Next Round

The New York Knicks have a lot to be proud of this season as they not only held strong in a grueling Atlantic Division this year, but took down the veteran Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Now down a game to the Indiana Pacers and with just 20-1 odds of winning the NBA championship, they’ll have to find away to keep themselves relevant in the postseason. With...
