Knicks' Donte DiVincenzo joins impressive franchise shortlist vs. Magic

Sharpshooter Donte DiVincenzo became only the fourth New York Knicks player to surpass 200 three-pointers in a single season Friday night against the Orlando Magic.

DiVincenzo joins John Starks (217), Julius Randle (218) and Evan Fournier (241) as the only Knicks to accomplish the feat. Furthermore, he's on pace to surpass Fournier for the franchise mark before season's end.

Throughout a breakout year for DiVincenzo, he has emerged as one of the more dangerous outside threats in the NBA. He's already topped his previous season-high in three-pointers made (150), entering Friday night ranked third in the league (197), trailing behind only Dallas Mavericks Luka Doncic (216) and Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry (290).

With more success coming from beyond the arc, DiVincenzo's confidence is through the roof. Recently, he's been chucking up threes at a historic rate. Over the previous 15 games, he's attempted 196 three-pointers (made 75). According to OptaStats, only Curry and James Harden have recorded more over the same stretch in the history of the NBA.

Aside from his accolade, DiVincenzo didn't factor much into the Knicks' 98-74 win over the Magic Friday night. He recorded 11 points, with all three of his made field goals coming from three-point land.

DiVincenzo was one of five Knicks to finish in double figures, with point guard Jalen Brunson leading the way with 26 points. Meanwhile, on the defensive end, the Knicks held an opponent to 74 points for the first time since 2012 (Washington Wizards).

The victory improved the Knicks to 36-26 on the year. They currently occupy the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
