Found March 19, 2013 on Knickswag:
Today the New York Knicks announced that Tyson Chandler will be out for 1 week or more with a bulging disc in his neck and Kurt Thomas will be out for 2-4 weeks with foot issues (stress fracture). Many thoughts have gone through my head, but my real thoughts I cannot express in words. From 2010/11 playoffs when Amar’e hurt his back in warm ups, the Knicks injury bug has hit real hard since. Players with injuries since then have been STAT, Melo, Tyson, Billups, Sheed, Baron Davis, Shump, Camby, and now Kurt. The Knicks have been riddled with injuries the past 3 years like no other team I have ever been around. What to do? NY is in a tough jam; they need to bolster their frontline badly, but sounds like they don’t want to release anyone. If they wait it out they might drop in the standings. Furthermore, when and if all the injured players return, what kind of chemistry will they have together? They will need at least 2 weeks together to gain this chemistry, however with the playoffs starting in less than a month, this is most likely not possible. This could be impending disaster for the Knicks in the first round, resulting in a 1 and done. Options are few and far between, but I have a few. Releasing seldom-used James White and injured Rasheed Wallace could open up two roster spots for frontcourt and backcourt help. I have listed a few names over the past weeks here at the Swag, I think some of these choices could really help in the long run. Frontcourt Backcourt As of this minute the Knicks need to figure out what their next move is. If they do nothing and wait for these injuries to heal, then they would be taking an unfortunate risk and they could possibly lose in the 1st round of the playoffs if they are not careful.   Peter A – Knickswag The post Knicks: Frustration of Injuries and Choices to Make appeared first on Knickswag - A New York Knicks Blog - News, Rumors, and more!.
