The New York Knicks have promoted Glen Grunwald to executive vice president and general manager after he assembled numerous pieces of a playoff roster this season. Grunwald has been serving on an interim basis since July, after Donnie Walsh opted not to return. He acquired center Tyson Chandler before the season to become the defensive presence the team long lacked, and signed key players such as Jeremy Lin, Baron Davis, Steve Novak and JR Smith along the way. The Knicks went into Tuesday still with hopes of finishing sixth in the Eastern Conference, despite a tumultuous season that saw coach Mike D'Antoni resign in March. Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan says in a statement the Knicks look forward to Grunwald continuing in his role ''for many years to come.''

Baron Davis Feeling The Pressure To Keep His Starting Job?

Baron Davis returned to the Knicks on Sunday after missing the last two games with a stomach bug.To this point in his Knicks tenure, Davis has failed to live up to any of the expectations the team had for him going into this season. In fact, as poorly as he has played thus far, that's how oh so very refreshing the play of Mike Bibby has been for the team as of late.Giving the...

Does Amar'e Stoudemire Represent the Knicks' Playoffs X-Factor?

It’s not everyday that an NBA team’s superstar also fills the role of X-Factor.But with Amar’e Stoudemire having just recently made his return to the court, that’s exactly what he could represent.Overcoming obvious obstacles in the form of injuries to Stoudemire and Jeremy Lin, the Knicks powered through to a 9-4 record with both players sidelined. Thanks to an M.V.P.-like...

Knicks Need To Help Landry Fields Thrive By Letting Him Do What He Does Best

**This editorial was written by Knicks Journal contributor, Zach Horst. You can follow Zach on Twitter @zd183.**After an exciting rookie season, it seemed Landry Fields’ potential was sky-high - an excellent rebounding guard who was explosive around the rim and could knock down open shots. His struggles up to this point suggest a “sophomore slump” is the perfect way to describe...

Carmelo Anthony's fireplace portrait needs your approval (Picture)

Last week, La La Vasquez (wife of Knicks star Carmelo Anthony) granted the New York Post a tour of their Hell's Kitchen apartment. The major highlight of the story for us bloggers was a picture of their living room featuring a portrait of Carmelo done by artist Paul Gerben hanging above their fireplace:It is a pretty impressive portrait but I'm not sure if the purple goes...

Knicks' Woodson left in limbo

Glen Grunwald had the interim tag removed from his title as New York Knicks vice president and general manager on Tuesday. But he was not ready to do the same for interim coach Mike Woodson. Not yet. "Right now," Grunwald said, "we just need to stay focused on the playoffs." Woodson's 17-6 record since he took over for Mike D'Antoni on March 14 certainly...

Clips lose, can't secure home-court for playoffs

NEW YORK (AP) -- JR Smith scored 21 points, including a rally-stopping jumper with 31 seconds left, and the New York Knicks held on to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 99-93 on Wednesday night and close in on the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. Carmelo Anthony scored 17 points for the Knicks, but he was on the bench in the final minutes as the Knicks blew nearly all of an 18...

Carmelo would love Mike Woodson to coach him more than he did D'Antoni

The cynical side of me thinks that of course Carmelo Anthony is going to say publicly that he loves Mike Woodson because he doesn't want to be labeled a coach killer after already getting one coach fired earlier this season. The more understanding, and less judgemental, side of me thinks that maybe Mike Woodson is just a better fit for this Knicks team moving forward though too...

Monday night was quite social in NYC. Carmelo Anthony, his wife Lala plus his Knicks teammates, Amar’e Stoudemire, Baron Davis and JR Smith were spotted at a dinner thrown by luxury brand Audemars Piguet at Catch in New York’s Meatpacking District. Knicks-Bobcats Preview

The New York Knicks don't seem overly concerned about where they start their postseason regardless of the outcome of their regular-season finale. The Charlotte Bobcats, however, have plenty of incentive to win Thursday night to avoid capping an utterly miserable and potentially record-setting season of futility. For the Knicks (35-30), a victory would ensure them the No. 7...
