Knicks fear Kurt Thomas may have a stress fracture which would end his season. He’ll go for an MRI on his right foot when team returns home.

If it turns out that KT is done for the year, what are the Knicks options? If I am GM of this injury plagued team, you would have to release KT and look for the next ” big” available. With the loss of Amar’e, Tyson and Melo, the Knicks are in desperate need of help on the front-line. As it is, the Knicks are fragile upfront with the aging Kenyon Martin and Marcus Camby playing more minutes than they should. Who is available?
Here are a few names: Henry Sims, Hakim Warrick, Josh Boone, Vernon Goodridge, Trey Thompkins, Sean Williams, Jeremy Tyler, and Samardo Samuels.
My eye would be on Henry Sims, Vernon Goodridge, Trey Thompkins and Jeremy Tyler. With the winner being Goodridge or Sims. The Knicks experiment with signing aging veterans has completely backfired. Now it is time to sign someone below 30 and see what you can got from them for the stretch run and the playoffs. You never know, maybe you can find a “big” that can help you this year and next year as well.
